You've hit all the good ones i guess.
Well, who wouldn't want the community to know what's going around?
I think that if we add a "news that buzzed the week" section regarding rl news would be awesome. Nothing dramatic ofcourse, something that fits within the rules****: awesome scientific discoveries, or something magnificent like the meteor showers etc ;)
Also "your weekly tech tip" would be awesome. It could contain from tips how to protect your computer to the secret features of win7 ( :P ). this could be provided by your tech group ofcourse. :)
Maybe "the life of a j-mod" section? This could include some of your interesting stuff that you've made/met during your life. (Eventhough i don't think reading Mod paul m's bio would be a good bedtime story :P )
Maybe a "guaranteed content section"? A place where to state what projects are going on (i know it eliminates the element of surprise but i think it would be interesting). No release dates ofcourse. Even this isn't ok, how about turning it into hints related to future updates? (this would make the future updates forum more exciting)
More ideas will come later if i get any.
PS : some of the sections i've mentioned wouldn't work well if the newsletters wouldn't be of regular basis.
As for a final touch, i know you said no 500char posts, but as a mod i don't know to make a good post without surpassing the limits...i think you know what i mean :P

Please avoid breaking the rules in the future. This could lead you to a temporary or a permanent forum mute.
I suggest you read the forum code of conduct to learn what is and isn't allowed on the forums. It would help you not get in trouble ;)
Also, i've noticed you're a new forumer. I suggest you read the forum specific rules so that you will get to know where to post certain topics ;)

I would definitely enter in this, writing is one of my favorite things to do! :)
I also love captioning pictures, and that one was my favorite idea.

Something I would love to see are J-Mod interviews, where a J-Mod and the selected player could sit down, and ask each other questions. You've already done this once I saw on facebook, I even signed up :)
It was a brilliant idea, and I think we should see an expanded version of that.
I'm sure me (along with many others) would love to see questions asked by players, answered by J-Mods. Not only that, but have the J-Mods ask the certain chosen players questions.
There are some downfalls to this idea, but if you like it you can discuss it with me here, and if I don't check back anytime soon and you're REALLY interested, you could send me a message :p
