So this marks the end of Big Ticket prize draws - a huge congratulations to all winners!
HOWEVER there are huge gaps in this ticket system.
First, there aretickets given out to very community minded people. Have these been given silently, or was the concept dropped?
Second, competitions.
I´ve said this better and longer on page 149, but is video making worth a quarter of the Big Tickets in TOTAL whereas other forms of art are not?
I like seeing art and writing contests, but I´m still eagerly waiting, mouth watering, for the one contest which is not machinima.
Of course all you need to do is try, but someone with absolutely no experience of video-making will surely have great problems making a video and will be competing with the great ones (not that they always win!
).
Then, regard the amount of video-makers. Is it a quarter of the RuneScape players, who also would love visiting Jagex?
I in no way mean to disregard the huge amount of work which goes into videos - all respect!- but Tickets are focused too much on one thing.
Are people who have never touched a video recording programme and the Orb of Oculus, but are very creative, forced to resort into draws and community-minded-tickets?
As far as clans go, very experienced clans will have a huge advantage over others here. Therefore it´s three more tickets away from people who have never been in a clan, if you´re realistic.
What about the majority of the RuneScape players who are not in a clan and only want a chance to visit Jagex other than winning a draw?
Keep in mind video-makers and clan leaders also can win tickets in a draw.
Now the year is not over, far from it, but a little bit of variation in the competitions would be a nice addition to this fantastic concept giving players of RuneScape the chance to visit Jagex... at your expense.
BOTTOM LINE: When it comes to something as massive as Big Tickets, *all kinds of everything* is the way to go. IN CAPS.
