There´s simply one flaw in that art contest - no ticket is included in the prizes!
Is machinima-making worth tons of Big Tickets whereas other forms of creativity are not?
There has been a writing contest up, and if I remember the prizes correctly they were some time of membership and a goody-bag. The art contest only comes with some more honour and glory, but you´ll have to pay your Runefest ticket yourself anyway (so much for seeing your work being presented if you live in the middle of the Pacific!).
I read in some newsletter there would be SOME kind of other contest having a ticket as a prize, but as it seems now everyone who doesn´t make machinima needs to be either hugely lucky or hugely community involved to even stand a chance.
Calculating the odds of winning, you´ll see video-makers have a HUGE advantage - yes, there´s an incredible amount of work involved, but it´s not the only form of art and creativity which does.
Either I´ve missed something or something does not compute.

I´m still wondering why on earth Jagex have left the other contests than video contests this far into the year - most of the ´Scapers have probably forgotten these were promised! (One IS coming according to a newsletter, but Saradomin only knows what and when.)
Wouldn´t it have been a better move to host a video contest, something else, a video contest, something else...
Over a fourth of the Big Ticket total will go to video-makers, quite a few to lucky winners, and all others are left with however many there are left - if I´ve counted correctly there´s still some amount.
One thing I´m concerned about though; are the Big Tickets handed out for community involvement counted into the tally of 24? If this is the case, diversity in competitions becomes even more crucial as a whopping amount of tickets have flown away.
Yes, everyone stands a chance at winning one at a draw - but quite frankly, I think you´d feel a lot a better sending something in to feel a chance, and regardless of the outcome you´d know you had done your best.
When it comes to draws you basically forget about the entire thing and thus wonder whether or not a draw has been conducted!
Then the last question - WAS a draw conducted yesterday? There was no reminder, but there has been a draw the 26th every month this far.
