Dutch as spanish possibly silver... but dutch compared to hispanic people? undoubtly. This includes countries like Mexico, Argentina, Venezuela, Puerto rico... actually whole Latin America. I'm sure that if you add all that together the Hispanic community is bigger as the dutch.

Remember we're talking about the size of the RuneScape playing communities, not the size of the actual worldwide communities. =)

Poppy, could you maybe give us a rough estimate of the amount of people in each community? Because I do realise alot of us Dutchies play runescape, it does seem quite unbelieveable that the amount of players of a country of 16 million inhabitats can exceed the amount of players of a world-wide area including a much higher amount of inhabitats (I think the hispanic part of the world can be the 10-fold of that easily). I know you prefer to not give out such details, but I could consider this some very interesting data for the average player as well.

Will the communities that are going to be removed be allowed to talk in their own language still on the forums or will they be encouraged to use english?

As you'll all be speaking on the English forums, all posts will need to be in English.

I'm not sure if I can give you exact figures, but I do know that the RuneScape Dutch community is very large. =)

Wait, what will happen when I come upon a thread that is all, no offense, gibberish because I can't speak Swedish or something?
This will just bring confusion and cause those communities to either post in English or confuse us with their native languages. People shouldn't be forced to speak English just to convey a thought.
Maybe I'm missing something, but sorry to all those communities for losing their forums :(

And is there a reason why you used your signature in your reply to Dmc DeLorean and not in your replies to me? :( I feel hated - Time to find my corner in the PPoP chat and start crying xD
On topic;
I understand you can't give me exact numbers because I'm sure the community sizes fluctuate alot, but that's why I asked for a rough estimate (or maybe if possible like a top 5/10 list of community sizes approximately)
Yes, I might sound like a pain in the culo asking for such details, but it's more asking because I'm interested than asking because I want to debate with you about it. If you say the dutch community is large, I believe you... Just more details on community sizes would be awesome.

I believe that this probably will work out better than a lot of people are imagining. After all, if I am correct, most people who play RuneScape that are of a different nationality than English, can also speak english, generally very well.
And the fact is players just do not always like change, but through time we get used to it, perhaps we should stop worrying and wait and see what happens with this idea.
After all, Jagex probably would not be doing it if they did not feel it was 100% a good idea. So lets just see how it goes.
And on a less serious note, Jan Cabbage, Poppy clearly just has a crush on me. Either that or my quote was not as big as yours are and so she feels she can fit her signature in her replies to my posts.

Hello, I speak Spanish and I think this forum change is a mistake.
Mod Stevew you said:
“integrate some of the smaller regional communities into the English community so that they can enjoy all the benefits of being part of a bigger RuneScape community. “
Seriously Stevew, I don't think it will really help to the Spanish community. I don't know how the other ones work, but for Spanish it is a problem. There are many players who don't know English, and often they feel left out just because English is a big wall. They wont move to the English forums just because they don't understand them.
I know it is not Jagex fault that in some countries with Spanish language there aren't a social and Government involvement to improve English studies, but it is a reality: your users, your players, your costumers don't know English as good as needed in English forums. Also, in the past before Spanish forums were made, I saw tons of bulling for English mistakes done in English forums, and nothing much was done to stop them, so it won't help much them feeling comfortable there.
For most of Spanish speakers to have a bill issue, for example, was a nightmare before being able to send it in Spanish. Same happened for account issues or to knew and understand Runescape rules. Not to mention the lack of information, if for example there was a super golden gnomes competition the information didn't arrive to them. I may say that sadly all the information doesn't arrive to Spanish speakers now either, still with some of us trying to build a bridge between English and Spanish communities which should be build by Jagex employers. But at least we had a place to spread all the information we could in Spanish, now we wont have it anymore.
