Unfortunately 1280x1024 is the very minimum resolution we can currently accept for the competition, otherwise we'd have put a lower resolution size in the rules.
As for the skybox, that's the option which shows the clouds beneath your citadel. You can change this in your graphical options.

I'd recommend you avoid editing your image. We really want you to show what the game can do, rather than see an adjusted image.

If you're feeling snap happy then you can enter several if you like. All I'd ask is that no one bombards us with a hundred pictures on the off chance that one of them is on the money. ;)
