A single ship sailed in from the sea, baring only a few men dressed in cloaks and fur; the leading man, an older, bearded man, orders the messenger to hurry along to the King's castle.
Carrying a scroll to be delivered from the Chieftain of the Rellekkan People to the King of Ironfalls, the messenger, a scrawny boy no older than sixteen, scurries up towards the castle and promptly hands the scroll to whichever authority it was meant to go. Then without another word, the young boy went on back to his companions' longship, joining the other Rellekkan messengers back onto the sea.
The scroll itself carried a peculiar invitation for the King of Ironfalls...
"Come!
Come forth with ye strongest and brightest, and share in sport and drink in a series of games which shall take place throughout the great north,
Let us unite in celebration of our greatest athletes and champions, and bring about joyous and happy times to all that may call themselves Fremennik!
It is with this invitation that the King of Ironfalls is invited to form his own team, and compete with us in games of various kinds spanning the many cultures of our lands!
Come forth, ye of Ironfalls, to our Fremennik Games!"
That would be all that the scroll had read. It seemed the Chieftain was inviting the King to form a team and compete in his peoples' sports and celebration. Details are on the Rellekka thread!
