I'm slightly suspicious of this given the date it was posted on.

From the Study of the King of Ironfalls, a parchment is read out by the town criers, as a new position is available within the Royal Court.
Greetings to all,

The title/role is that of Royal Scribe.
Duties include:
- Advising the King of matters of state.
- Making appointments for the King or making appointments for guests to see the King.
- Shadowing Court meetings.

Those who wish to apply, please send a seal parchment to the Castle of Ironfalls.
Signed,
King Ethan Reine of Ironfalls

Another day on the Island Capital of the Ironfalls Kingdom.
The seagulls flocking overhead, the sound of the market brimming with life, the towns guard wandering the grounds and children flying their kites overhead.
It was a glorious day...
The sea had been calm all day, but on the horizon all manner of roaring approached.
Darkness started to shift over the waves, cloud formed like a closing curtain on stage after the final act, but there was no encore this time.
There in the eye of the storm, the pit of hell, a lone merchants vessel drifted into the port.
By this point silence had followed....
The silence was then broken, the sound of coughing and spluttering from the ship. The towns guard surround the port and quarantined the vessel and its crew.
The Blue Star had seen its last voyage, little did anyone know.
However in the dead of night, a cloaked, 6"2 person had left the ships hold and clambered ashore.
Fast forward a week, the Island had not been able to get rid of the storm choking its lands.
The dead piled up, lifeless, a blank canvas starring into the mud, almost merging back into the ground.
Crops started to deteriorate, it would not be long before there was a total lock down on resources.
Under order of the King of Ironfalls, those afflicted had been moved to one side of the Island. The doors had been sealed off, supplies however were often, but you must understand that Ethan had little choice but to do this, for he could not lose anyone else to this rot. New orders were then given out to burn the dead, as new discoveries had been made that intact this was not a normal plague at all, it was magically inflicted.
With the 'dead' now rising from the places where they had fallen, they came back with no recollection of what had happened. They walked on their hands and feet as an animal, their pale skin that had slightly yellowed now blotching and bruised. They had gone feral.

King Ethan had some of these creatures locked away under Ironfalls Castle, to study their behaviour and found out that a touch from them would easily burn into a beings flesh. Also that they were covered in some sort of adhesive slime.
Ethan watched from the Study tower and saw as one of the afflicted turned into such a horrific creature. Now it was clear, the plague could be transferred by bite or touch but not only that but when the yellow blotches appeared, a person had little more than an hour until their transition.
Who had summoned this plague, and why? What had been the reason behind such torture?
Ethan questioned this each day and each day he sent Owls to neighbouring Kingdoms in hope that a doctor/physician would be able to help. That a hero would aid Ironfalls and that there were those ready to defend the Kingdom!

Almost time!
The bell tower struck midnight, under the light of the moon the cloaked figure slipped away in the dead of the night and made their way down under the Castle to the hidden tunnels. They made their way out to the shore and rowed until they had reached Waterbirth Island.
There they sacrificed a dagganoth on the am quickly fashioned altar.
The teeth crushed into powder, mixed with other concoctions making a pink mix solution. The cloak figure drunk the vial.
Meanwhile on Ironfalls the hour had left another two dead, the fires set and raising above the tops of the trees.
Little did they know they had missed a body that night, that had be left on a merchant vessel. Time was ticking, the corpse had started to blotch.
Soon it would be time for Winters End, soon a new horror would be unveiled.
By this time the Alchemist and healer Artilies Var had left Ironfalls in search for a cure, not knowing what would befall the Kingdom. King Ethan had decided to remain with his people, to search for clues and study the behaviour of his people.
