Adrian's receipt of the letter prompted him to swift action, and on swifter wings, he and the soldiers he could muster of his household guard made way to Ardougne. Fast march through the city, making sure to avoid confrontation until Castle Ardougne was in their sights.
Tyrek's gambit was a foolish endeavour, and clearly the product of a sick mind, as Adrian and his cohort entered without challenge. There, Adrian, flanked by his loyal soldiers, among their number Darius Cross and the Aviansie Chi'ree, did face Tyrek. Darius fell, as hero and martyr, to the mad Vekon's blade, but his death was not in vain. Adrian struck Tyrek with a mortal wound, and though he did strike back at Adrian and drew his blood, Adrian's sword came down upon Tyrek's head and brought peace to him for the last time.
Adrian's men spread out, either recruiting the actions of the soldiers which were prepared to work with Adrian for peace, or placating and disarming those who remained loyal to Tyrek, by force if necessary. It was a long, tiring, and bloody night, but the matter would slowly be settled. Kandarin would be at peace, no matter the effort it demanded of the Aerendyl-Mathrafal and the men who followed him.
