• According to the thread, there is a system on dice roll, so I won't join.
That's fine, you're free to avoid the group like the plaque. But if you had read;
The dice roll system is optional.
Meaning you are not forced to do it if you feel that text-play is much better for you. We will always
advice you
and suggest the system, but never force it. So I hope after reading this, you are now aware that you have a choice.
• If I try the dice system, will I be given help on using it? Will I also be told what to roll when needed?
Yes, within our group discord, we have a better and organized rules and implication on how the system works. We will always help you in any questions and concerns you do have. But know, most, if not all of our members use the new system, and they are willing to help anyone if needed.
• Seeing as this group mostly role-play in discord, I am usually busy in real life, would it be okay if i can respond to a role-play I am on every so often that I can?
Yes, but know that you
must
let your DM or the Group's DM (me) of your situation. The point to the discord role-play is not only for a smoother and better role-play, as well as allowing you to role-play when you are free; it is also meant for a better communication with each other.
If you fail to communicate on your situation in life, during paused role-play, it will be considered of failure to respond, and if no response is made during a certain amount of time; the role-play will be considered as ended, and quest failed.
Know that saying
I like to take my time to plan and think it through.
Is not a reason to spend 4-6 hours of no respond. If that continued, the DM has all the rights to end the role-play if he pleases.
• Are there any consequences to failing a quest?
The consequences all depends on your character's failure to completing it. The well known mean of failure would be no reward or fame gained towards the quest. You also won't be able to redo the quest, if it is a quest that can be redone.
• Am I allowed to create more than one character, plus add a new one if one of them dies?
You are allowed to create as many as you want. But know that we do not force
deaths
on your character(s). If you feel you'll have a better story, or experience to have your character die, that's entirely up to you. But death is not permanent, nor do we force it.
• From the statement above, does that mean this is a private group?
No. If you wish to see it as a private role-play group, then that's your opinion entirely. This is a public role-play group, in that manner, we allow anyone and everyone to participate in the group in either hosting a quest, or doing one.
• What canon does the group follow?
The in-game lore. Again, if this deems us a private role-playing group in your eyes, that's your opinion and we will respect your opinion and point of view. But know that this does not mean we will agree with it. This group is not a private role-playing group just because we follow the in-game lore, as we don't shield ourselves from the 42 community. It should be noted that this group follows both RS3 and OSRS in-game canon.
• How strict is the canon that you follow?
Strict enough that we do not allow Mahjarrat within our group as adventurers. Not enough that we don't allow custom race (There is a loophole explained in our discord). We're also strict that we follow the current story within the game, only acknowledging the NPC rules of kingdoms and factions.
• What's The Quest Collective Stand in POK?
No where. The Quest Collective do not, and will never have anything to do with POK. Call it a Private role-play if you want, but this group is within the canon of the RuneScape in-game lore. Meaning we have our own canon that we follow.
But that doesn't limit our group in an way on who can join, everyone is welcome. We are just going to acknowledge NPC rules over POK.
• So then you're group won't accept quests from these POK leaders?
We will. The point to this group is to have an open arm policy. We welcome anyone to role-play and host a quest of their choosing. If a POK leader, or a character related to the leader submits a quest, that quest will revolve around their POK canon. But once that quest is completed, that canon no longer exist and is treated as an npc requested quest.
• Because the role-play is based around your groups canon, does that mean we’ll automatically go with it's canon?
Absolutely not. Again, if a request from a POK/POC that wants to host a quest within their canon, them their canon is temperately put into the Collective until the quest, (or plot) is completed, or becomes forgotten and inactive. This comes for other role-players and quest hosting. Your canon can be applied to the group and the quest you host, but you cannot force other to accept your canon if you aren't hosting a quest.
Again, you're character can come from a POK/POC, but their canon is not to be forced on others if they wish not to accept it.
• What if my character is one of the/is related to characters ruling kingdoms, cities or land?
Then they won't be accepted. If you're character is
just
a relative with no ruling over the kingdom besides given some authority over the kingdom, then they are still accepted. But if you're character rules over said city, kingdom, or land and has
complete
control over it (even if they aren't king/queen but relatives) then they will not be accepted. Know that knights, civilians, wizards or anyone from a kingdom, city, or land are accepted no matter if they are in a POK/POC group or not.
• Does all this mean you're going to prevent your group member from joining any other role-play that follows a POK/POC?
No, never. You are free to decide where you wish to role-play and how to role-play. I will never tell you where you can or can't role-play. But again, don't force us to follow a canon/lore that we do not follow.
• Do you guys allow theme-play style role-play?
We allow everyone to be able to role-play as they please, this includes theme-play. Our only request is that you limit the extent of the way you role-play, prevent yourself from comparing stats from in-game to what you can do in role-play.
• Do you guys have a black list? I have some people you should add to it.
No, we do not and will not ever do black listing. For those reading, black listing is a form of blocking a player from role-playing in our group, ignoring them and their character completely, even as far as them being part of any event outside of our group.
We do not acknowledge this or practice this at all. If the person you dislike is in our group, we advice you ignore them and only talk to them when it comes to participating in our role-play events. We have a channel for you two to argue in a mature level.
