The envelope arrives in ordinary fashion; a response from the government in Varrock, penned by a secretary of the Grand Chancellor to the Chief Ambassador of the Camelite royal court. This one was marked by the seal of the Lavelle; emblazoning an eagle, with wings spread and talons clenched. The letter would read:
To His Majesty, the King of Camelot, Tommen, and his Chief Ambassador,
We write to you to inform you that your letter has been received and read by Her Most Serene Excellency, and she is delighted to hear words of recognition from such an esteemed kingdom. However, she regrets to inform you that while she will be unable to come personally to Camelot at this time, she has delegated the responsibility to a special ambassador with intentions to visit your court and discuss our two peoples' relationship henceforth.
The special ambassador, Weston Durant, expresses his utmost joy in working closely with your court in ensuring the best possible terms of friendship between Camelot and Varrock. Following a meeting with an ambassador from the Kharidian Caliphate, it would seem that a makeshift coalition with aims to bring valuable trade across Gielinor could likely be in the works. A prospect which our government, and our Grand Chancellor, are very much excited for.
After meeting the special ambassador, correspondence and communication between our nations will be handled entirely by Ambassador Durant. Her Most Serene Excellency will continue to happily welcome your correspondence with her government after the arrival of her special ambassador at your court to discuss the status of our agreements, and any concerns that may later come of them. Ambassador Durant will leave promptly, and arrive in Camelot within the next few days to be received by your court to establish formal ties.
Her Most Serene Excellency does wish you and yours a very merry Wintumber season,
Chief Secretary to HMSE, the Grand Chancellor,
Marilynn Holder
