We live in a roleplay society... those of us that don't get outside often at least.

Straight up, why isn't this thread locked? As its done nothing but cause more strife between everyone and probably give quite a few of us a good laugh.

I wasn't going to post again, but I do want this cleared up, not that you'll believe me. From what Pyro had shared with me when Arenaride was made, it was an alt account to get access to Kandarin RP since he knew he couldn't do it as Pyro. Back then that's all I thought it was for. I also know that he didn't snake Asgarnia - Castigo basically crammed it down his throat and he argued with Castigo in PM's about it, and decided to put me in charge in the background so he could eventually give it to me while he focused on Kandarin RP.

Obviously other things came to light about why he made Arenaride and that truth became a lie. You'll find I stopped defending him about this after that. But no, he didn't create the account to steal Asgarnia. He didn't want it at all in the first place, Castigo just tried to force what he perceived as a new player to take a POK and then immediately turned around and rofl-rezzed his character that he publicly announced as dead (you can STILL go find that on the thread that was once the Dragon Wars) to try and shaft the "new player".

Of course, Pyro still did nothing to deal with all the garbage piling up under his nose,a nd then he slid it all over to me when he fucked off and "quit" for like 3 weeks before starting the same cycle with Misthalin. The Sicarius |

Guilty of what? Deceiving you? I struggle to feel particularly guilty about that.

It was quite literally an IC ploy to weaken the Kandar Empire. I admit that in the interests of ensuring that my plan was not metagamed I took some steps OOC'ly to ensure I wasn't unmasked too early. As Ridaku says the plan was never aimed at stealing Asgarnia specifically (there was afterall no way I could have known that the opportunity would arise) but I can't deny that I was building up my character's power in Kandarin in preparation to do something.

People on W42 often talk about the need to separate the IC from the OOC and really I couldn't agree more. I invite all those that see themselves as betrayed IC'ly to take a step back and see the story that unfolded for a moment.

-> Lord Pyro, a character proposed by me to be one of W42's oldest and most enduring villains sees that he doesn't have the means to take on his current main enemy directly.

-> He disappears and uses his shapeshifting ability to secretly infiltrate the Kandar Empire.

-> Slowly, bit by bit he builds his new persona up from nothing to become (in a certain light) one of the most important people in the Empire (stretching the definition here I know but to be fair he was the king of a kingdom that made up a large chunk of the Empire).

-> He does his best to ratchet up tensions between the Kinshra and the Empire and uses this as an excuse to send as much of the occupying Imperial army as possible up north where they fall into a number of Kinshra traps.

-> His grand deception comes to fruition by allowing a "coup" that officially removes the sovereign nation from the hands of the Empire.

I would challenge any of you to try and write a RP story better than that, scripted or otherwise.

P.S. Ridaku if I had even tried to remove that "garbage" my character would have probably gotten caught/killed. "The greatest endeavors are achieved because of their selfless intent"

All nice that you're still proudly donning your whiskers, Pyro, but I don't see how that sort of talk seems at place with the thread topic at hand. I'm too dumb and am missing your point.


Continueing with our own things might be the best suggestion I've seen come by so far. The season is coming and I think we shouldn't let it be spoiled with bickering over these sorts of things for now. December truce anyone? Quickly learn how to Roleplay on RuneScape!

Seeing how the canon split is one the most noticeable examples of our downfall I do see the relevance personally. To say nothing of the fact that I am only trying to encourage you all to accept what happened and see the positives so that we can all move past it and focus on my suggestion for reconciliation.
