Hello. Let's discuss the naming of territories in roleplay in RuneScape's World 42. It is actually a very interesting topic and it is my belief that constructive improvements can be made to the lingual core of the community if we discuss this.
Now, I can't get to all the pressing issues today, but I'll start us off with a good talking point.
- Realistic Naming
There is not enough realism with how places are named, you see. The cities we have right now, be they controlled by players or not, have always kept the same names but these names are just syllables slapped together. Realistically with places, be they cities or geographical features, are named after something rather than just being a string of syllables. Oh, and it has to be in a language that isn't our native language. There's a ton of places that are just...words...and half of them with the actual name of the feature itself! Like, "Dragontooth Island". Ridiculous. "V's Island"?? Seriously??? Did V never name his island anything at all - or did he never tell us the name? Who knows. We don't. But it's dumb.
Cities need to be called things like...Ville Boiteux. Varrock should be renamed to that, because, if I recall right, Misthalin was influenced by French design. In fact, it really should be named anything else than Varrock. Every city should be renamed to something besides what it currently is, in RP. I mean, they've been destroyed and rebuilt ad infinitum - why has every single rulership not changed the names? That's not realistic.
What is everyone's thoughts?
Save yourself.
Savior self.
