With the reformation of the Amddiffynwr Uchel- the royal guard of the Telemamitë family- and the disbanding of the military and local militia forces, Nolfinwë and Aelwen assembled a team of recruits to the guard to begin their first assignment.
The objective was simple; there was a local priest stirring up revolt against the elves' foreign rule, and so Marwolaeth, Aeronwen, Oomi, Carwen and Aelwen were dispatched- a days' ride from Hailawën- to the outskirts of Hemenster to find the monastery the priest was residing in,
and eliminate him and any of his overly-zealous followers.
As the group closed in on the location they sought, they began to encounter evidently-displeased humans- many spitting and throwing rocks at them as they rode past. In response, Marwolaeth and Oomi were ordered to ride on ahead and survey the area, while Aelwen, Carwen and Aeronwen took a back road to investigate the monastery the priest was last sighted in, away from the threat of the locals.
While Marwolaeth and Oomi turned out to be safe taking the main road in, the back road- despite being chosen in particular for being a safer option- was littered with a dozen rebels,
their bows trained on the elven trio, in silence. When the priest came forth, he demanded a duel, one-on-one, against one of the elves present; a show of force for his followers to witness, so it seemed.
Aeronwen dismounted and drew her sword. She would be the one to face him. And with a clashing of crystal against steel, she did- only to capture his severed head as she took him down. While half a dozen of the priest's loyal followers stood their ground, watching the elves as they left, the other half dozen simply up and left. Out of fear, or to deliver a warning to the others; they would never know as they departed.
