Let's just not levitate 40 tons of rubble.

waaaaaaa

if you weren't so thick maybe ezklov explaining that wasn't the case would have gotten through

Waaaa, just the other day Storm was telling me that earth magic couldn't actually be used to move stones, and that in fact, magic in Runescape can only be used to generate the elements, not manipulate them. So regardless of how much he was moving, according to him it shouldn't be at all possible <3 Hit me up for Skype logs if you want
Mods pls notice me

What a lovely thing to do, make fun of someone because we think they're wrong. To flaunt skype logs of someone being ignorant on the lore of a game.
haha
That's much better than just citing the source of your argument, debating like someone who can put two thoughts together, and moving on.
haha

To be fair, Eli is at least agreeing with someone that has made points in the thread and that feels like there isn't anything else to be said that hasn't been touched upon, which is perfectly acceptable.

Where Storm is concerned, he's not ignorant of game lore. He knows the lore very well, and he's been a part of the community for years. His momentary ignorance, from my understanding, surfaced out of spite and rubbed quite a few people the wrong way. I got to watch several arguments spark over his behavior and the common consensus was that he was just being a **** and that people should 'just accept it'. Knowing as the player as I do, I can't say that I'm surprised.

Moreover, Vekon wasn't interested in any kind of actual discussion either. His defense for his behavior and that of his comrades, along with their actions was a simple "you can't make rules!" because that stance so happens to be beneficial to him at this time. Years ago, when it was beneficial to him to have rules, regulations and standards set to certain types of roleplay, he was one of the first people to jump on board.

It's not that his opinions have changed and that he's reconsidered his stance on those things: he's just being an ******* and profiting off of whatever he can whenever it's convenient for him to do so and looking down at people all the while*

**;DR: I appreciate your sentiment, Suzun, but in this instance, it's miss-placed. He's neither new nor unaware of the lore. He was just being a *****.
I am going to break your arm so that the bone juts out and then I will stab you to death with your own insides. I will win this chess game, is what I am saying.

I like this (being Shrap's post). Being cool to each other and having fun is fun.

I will say that a good confuse or bind spell will help massively in a 1v1, while a fire surge is probably just dumb. If you want to be a good combative mage, you have to think like any other fighter- sheer power won't help you if you're a tactical idiot. The majority of magic duels I've seen against a non-magical opponent have rarely involved a spell above bolt level (tier 2?).

Think about what's fun- describe it! Write about the sparks from the fire. Do something more than *charges fire blast for 3 turns and sends*- make it cool. We're all wizards. Get some style, some pizazz, some groove, etc etc.

I haven't really followed the whole tier-casting-thing as strictly, but I tend to just do a rough description and try and play fair- as a general rule you can handwave some of the guidelines (think of it like the pirate code) as long as it's not done for the sake of winning/being "That Guy".

This thread could probably be relabeled as "How To Do Magic And Not Be That Guy"

The only thing I've never really gotten into is the whole runeless vs runic magic thing because it's rarely made a difference for me anyways tbh- you can just say you have the runes on you. Even if you're a master earth mage, for example, runes are probably a good idea so that you don't get tired. Pragmatism, you know?
