The distinction is that I would never blacklist people to achieve this. If a char of mine is legitimately done in by IC events (e.g. *ahem* losing a battle), that's just public RP - I would never void it, nor would I slalom through various groups in order to carve out a safespace of "agreeable" individuals and then continue to put the public label on the resulting patchwork.
Furthermore, I'm not sure why in the world you would lend your support to Merca's silly rant, given its content. Mind-boggling, really.
I agree we're never going to see eye-to-eye. That's why reading blatant falsities posted on the forum, I'm inclined to counter it, especially with such a claim as being "public".

Honestly cannot believe what I'm reading. Calling a community of people who're able to cooperate with each other and not slander or ooc'ly attack each other a "safe space" and insulting the choice to build it. Calling it mind-boggling to agree with someone saying it's silly to get angry at people for not wanting to play with other people who're rude to us, and further insulting their point of view by calling it a rant with potentially offensive content. Best example of how broken things are. You're actively dismissing and insulting us because we aren't yelling or arguing extensively with each other.

They think they are "the many", and I "the few". They think this gives them the right to walk over me.

I mean it's clear that RiDaku does Private Rp while others do Public Rp. Their own respective canons.
How can you be public and blacklist people. That is private.
Believe it or not, the opposite is traditionally true: Only public roleplays usually blacklisted. Private roleplays simply kicked people out or did not welcome others unless they applied/met certain qualifications to join. Blacklisting, however, was a public roleplay tool to say "we will interact with everybody
except x, y, and z players
."
Blacklisting has historically been and, to my understanding, continues to be a predominantly public roleplay tool.
It appears that your thread has moved from being a philosophical discussion about two types of roleplay into the re-hashing of personal conflicts between factions of the RP community.
Yes, there is a lot of passion in the RP community as well as disagreements and conflicts over styles of RP and certain personalities. However, the forums and the game have rules. The forums may not be used to make personal attacks, or insult and accuse other players.
There's already been a post by Mod Poerkie discussing everyone coming together to unite and make this community strong rather than separate...Let's try to work together and make this smaller, yet excellent, roleplaying community, a family that can unite and work together.
Taking all of the above into consideration, I've locked the thread. Please do not recreate it. Instead, please try to work together to make a stronger community.
