A short while after the letter was delivered, a single crow flew from the tower beside the church at the Salve, with a short piece of parchment tied to it's leg. It flew straight to the farmlands which the men were said to have come from, and landed on a windowsill, waiting for someone to take the parchment. The handwriting was largely sloppy, but remained legible.
"Lord Calderon,
Please inform Servus that I am grateful for his assistance, and it will not be forgotten by me or my men. Your offer is equally appreciated, and should you wish for your men to stay here at Paterdomus they will be provided for and be given accommodation the same as everyone else - though I feel they may be more comfortable at home. Of course, should we need assistance in our duty here, I will not hesitate to ask to ask for your help. I thank you for the offer.
- Sir Athon Blackett."
