The thick undergrowth on the path north was difficult to traverse. It got worse, the farther they went. The former hunter's experience in tracking aided the group in the search for the undead, and they quickly came to a clearing where the tracks ceased to be. The atmosphere was tense, and the swamplands were all too quiet.
Then they came.
Undead swarmed the group, one by one coming forward to take on each of the three soldiers. It seemed unending, and even as others from Paterdomus and nearby arrived to offer assistance, there was no stopping the onslaught. They fought off the horde for a time, managing to keep them at bay. However, the group were tiring - they couldn't keep this up for much longer. He called for the two mages present to teleport the group back out, to escape the danger. There was some confusion, and they were teleported in separate groups, though they all made it back safely, including the mercenary they had picked up along the way.
The group had returned to Paterdomus, battered and bruised. As they all sought out their beds to rest, the Captain tried to figure out what they were going to do next.
