Hours after the Lord Protector spoke, the tiny figure of Joanna stands up onto the stage. As the Sun hovers, a fiery red in matching hue to that of the Magistrate's robes. Her steely silver eyes look over the crowd, and Joanna was wearing some sort of pin which displayed her allegiance to the Guardians of Armadyl. She began in earnest, speaking in soft, clear tone at first.
"We are Asgarnians,"
Joanna said with a smile.
"United as one by the noble conquest of Raddallin, and so we shall be forever bound to the very essence of Asgarnia: the strength, purity, and endurance of the Asgarnian. For without our virtue, we are nothing.
My ancestors, just as many of our forefathers, saw the success of Raddallin's Forge; his greatest achievement, to unite our peoples, whether he be Kinshra or White Knight. It was his persistence of the necessity of coexistence, the goodness and might in his heart, which defined the Asgarnian for future generations and shall continue to do so for those yet to come. So, today, I do not come to you as a Guardian of Armadyl,"
Joanna raises her hand to remove the badge of office for a Knight-Guardian, and flicking it to the dirt.
Today, I come to you as an Asgarnian - from the druidic people of Taverley, the enduring Burthorpe to the illuminated Falador; I come to you, with fire in my eyes and steel in my heart."
She took a moment to pause, looking over the crowd again with determination.
"I come to you, as I put Asgarnia first; before my duties as a Guardian; before even the Republic, I put Asgarnia first. I am neither a Grey, nor a Kinshra. I am not a druid, nor am I a White Knight. I am an Asgarnian, who by the Forge of Raddallin, who deep in her heart, can no longer stand to see our great people so fractured, so foreign to each other.
Together, we are Asgarnian. Divided, we are an uncertain reality."
Hi, I'm Dan.
