Cait Hynes walked to speak again, holding herself up with her staff, she cleared her throat and began to speak with that old, steely calm voice of a cleric enraged.

"I had the... Pleasure to speak with Lady Lavelle. She is a woman who claims to be making an effort to see reason, and aid our people.

And yet she allows an alliance with the Druid-Slaying scum the Vekon. The Vekon slaughtered several hundred Guthixians without rhyme or reason not five generations ago, and to date none have apologised publicly nor explained why this silent, industrialized murder took place.

A woman who stands to shake hands with more demon than man, had no right to rule our people.

People of Taverley, we will soon find our homes unsafe. Our very families may be torn apart, because of the Vekon once more. And this Harpy, this Harlot, this empty-headed self-interested witch, will let them do it if she may rule the ashes.

I ask you to act not with hostility, but self defence. Prepare yourselves for the worst. The worst may soon come."

Following her speech, a few people attempted to locate Mrs. Hynes. The attempts failed, as she left by carriage for the south, for reasons she did not elaborate.

The Lord Protector himself attended the speech, standing in the crowd with average clothing on, and a bandana pulled up over his face, arms crossed over his chest. His scowl at the display grew more and more as the speech went, and when the druid stepped away, he stepped forth, jerking down the Bandana and raising his arms, calling for attention

"People of the Republic, hear me, your Lord Protector. There has been a lot of unrest, caused only by these druids and these so called..."Taverley Guard"..But let me ask you this. Who has really protected you? The Taverley Guard? This druid who speaks out against a Government who has done no wrong?

It is us, the Republic, who have protected you. You have been shielded from the hostilities outside our borders in Asgarnia. The Dae, in their brief reign, were kept out. Now these Greys and the Kinshra fight bitter battles, and we keep it outside our walls. You are safe here, my friends. The Greys have threatened us, you know. Threatened to overtake us by force once again to restore their kingdom. The more you lash out and fight us, the harder it will be to stand together to fight them back, if they decide to siege us.

Before you listen to the very few people with unrest and malice in their hearts, decide if what you want here in your homes, is a Burthorpe strong and independent, or one that is controlled and torn apart by war. As your Lord Protector, I will protect you from these things. All I ask is that these heathens lashing out against us for no reason are ignored."

Hours after the Lord Protector spoke, the tiny figure of Joanna stands up onto the stage. As the Sun hovers, a fiery red in matching hue to that of the Magistrate's robes. Her steely silver eyes look over the crowd, and Joanna was wearing some sort of pin which displayed her allegiance to the Guardians of Armadyl. She began in earnest, speaking in soft, clear tone at first.

"We are Asgarnians," Joanna said with a smile. "United as one by the noble conquest of Raddallin, and so we shall be forever bound to the very essence of Asgarnia: the strength, purity, and endurance of the Asgarnian. For without our virtue, we are nothing.

My ancestors, just as many of our forefathers, saw the success of Raddallin's Forge; his greatest achievement, to unite our peoples, whether he be Kinshra or White Knight. It was his persistence of the necessity of coexistence, the goodness and might in his heart, which defined the Asgarnian for future generations and shall continue to do so for those yet to come. So, today, I do not come to you as a Guardian of Armadyl,"
Joanna raises her hand to remove the badge of office for a Knight-Guardian, and flicking it to the dirt. Today, I come to you as an Asgarnian - from the druidic people of Taverley, the enduring Burthorpe to the illuminated Falador; I come to you, with fire in my eyes and steel in my heart."

She took a moment to pause, looking over the crowd again with determination.
"I come to you, as I put Asgarnia first; before my duties as a Guardian; before even the Republic, I put Asgarnia first. I am neither a Grey, nor a Kinshra. I am not a druid, nor am I a White Knight. I am an Asgarnian, who by the Forge of Raddallin, who deep in her heart, can no longer stand to see our great people so fractured, so foreign to each other.

Together, we are Asgarnian. Divided, we are an uncertain reality."

After the two had spoken, Vanguard began to take up positions in the area, and the surrounding area. Any further attempt to speak out against the Republic would be confronted by these Vanguard, first politely asking them to cease, and if they refused, they would be detained and put under arrest for 24 hours. When the Druidess left the city after her speech prior to the Lord Protector's, the guards at the gate stopped her to inform her if she left she would not be allowed back within the walls without a meeting with the Lord Protector himself. The Druidess would merely glare, old and decrepit body turning to the guard. "The Heathen knows the man makes no promises he keeps, and insults the very people under him. The Lord Protector should have stayed in Asgarnian cells to rot, befitting the gang-leader he is."

With that the woman either left quietly, or with her Spirit Wolf howling the men away from her carriage. She was too old to walk far, else she would.
