Where the posters had been torn down, new heralds had been posted. They shook the bell to call the crowds to their attention, as they received word of a new announcement from the Office of the Magistrate.
From the Office of the Magistrate of Taverley,
Peace has been offered; forums which are without transgression upon the druidic rites, nor the communities of Taverley and Burthorpe. It is with patience that I await you to see that you shall only encourage needless conflict in your juvenile, and blind, accusations.
For it is true that a man had to die, unnecessarily, in a misunderstanding between your cause, and mine; but I shall maintain that the Republic shall do all that it can to maintain the law of the land, which has not, and shall not, impede on the druidic rites, nor on the faithful and law-abiding citizenry of all of Burthorpe and Taverley.
If it is any consolation, to alleviate any worry of suppression, I had invited the Druidess, Caitlyn Hynes, to a meeting, in interest of resolution, which she had accepted. On her terms, we met at the Altar, which I approached unarmed and unguarded. Despite differences of opinion, I have made proper accommodation, according to her wise counsel, in the interest of the safety and security of the community henceforth.
So, for those of you who would believe that violence and disorder are the only options - rather than that of truce, which I have so persistently offered you - I only ask you this: shall the blood we shed today, as brothers and sisters of Asgarnia, and as torchbearers of enlightenment, be worth scorched earth and desolation tomorrow?
If it is reform you desire, then it shall be better earned in a meeting under a white flag of truce. But if you shall continue upon this path of mutiny, I can only guarantee that the Republic shall be ready and willing to preserve and protect the law of the land.
Hi, I'm Dan.
