The lone figure of a Druidess, beige robes trimmed with a grey cloth, and a crown of antler-shaped branches stood following Lady Lavelle's speech by an hour. She was old, decrepit, even, as many could note she was an elder of the area, known as Caitlyn Hynes. Green eyes looked to the crowd and spoke with the harsh, and heavy defiance that defined her. She lived a long and full life. Any attempt to kill her would leave her a Martyr.

"This land is for Guthixians. I dare not ask who this young, spring chicken of a Armadylean is who thinks herself our leader. We are an old culture, and have our traditions. The Druids ruled ourselves, just and limited in coin, as judges and lawmakers who have taken a step away from the feuds and battles of our old, warrior past. This united us. Taverley is the Druids, and the Druids are Taverley. We are more than just the lawmakers. We are your clergy. We are your teachers. We feed those who are poor, and ensure the rich pay their share. We remember our history, passed through epic after epic of bardic tales.

But it does not require a Druid's memory, to recall what Armadyleans and Bandosians have done to this land. Both in war ripped us bare, us, peaceful, non-violent priests of a neutral god, who lives on solely in memory!

This Republic, this so-called neutrality being treason for our protection is beyond ridiculous in ideology. We were plenty safe. We certainly don't need a woman with her head in the clouds painting a target on our backs for our allies by speaking for us.

I encourage those of my coven and all others to meet for an emergency Esbat, tomorrow when the moon is highest, to discuss the recent events.

Until then, I encourage you all. Druid or Soldier, Child or Elder. Smith or Farmer, to maintain the path of peaceful resistance to this rule. Pay no taxes, heed no respect. We will continue our ways as we have done for millenia unperturbed.

In Guthix's memory, move forward."

Soldiers under orders from the Magistrate began putting up posters on all public buildings, and heralds were informed to announce new developments in the formal establishment of the Republic and its facilities.

From the Office of the Magistrate of Taverley,

From this day, TWELFTH OF PENTEMBER, the Lady Magistrate, Joanna Lavelle, has opened her doors to the communities of Taverley and Burthorpe, in open forum, to address any concern of the people, pertaining to the future of Burthorpe, and the nature of the Republic, so as to construct a meaningful relationship with those of the community, and to build a common understanding of the new republic.

The Office of the Magistrate does announce that the Lady Lavelle shall donate coin and goods from her own, personal, treasury to the construction and staffing of community refuges for public use, in the case of homelessness, invasion of troll hordes, and wartime or siege; these refuges will be staffed with organizers, a kitchen, and counselors according to the needs of the community thereof.

Numerous members of the Taverley Guard would tear down some of the posters, replacing them with their own

"It is my absolute duty to warn all those who even consider meeting with the magistrate and her illusion of peace. The honourable lady cannot keep peace at her own meeting, having one of our guardsmen murdered. Do not throw away your to address such concerns in a forum where your safety and security has no guarantee.

In addition to this, the Taverley Guard strongly support the words of the Druidess Caitlyn Hynes. Do not pay your taxes to this corrupt and murderous regime. Paying taxes will only strengthen their position on our just and usually peaceful land."

Where the posters had been torn down, new heralds had been posted. They shook the bell to call the crowds to their attention, as they received word of a new announcement from the Office of the Magistrate.

From the Office of the Magistrate of Taverley,

Peace has been offered; forums which are without transgression upon the druidic rites, nor the communities of Taverley and Burthorpe. It is with patience that I await you to see that you shall only encourage needless conflict in your juvenile, and blind, accusations.

For it is true that a man had to die, unnecessarily, in a misunderstanding between your cause, and mine; but I shall maintain that the Republic shall do all that it can to maintain the law of the land, which has not, and shall not, impede on the druidic rites, nor on the faithful and law-abiding citizenry of all of Burthorpe and Taverley.

If it is any consolation, to alleviate any worry of suppression, I had invited the Druidess, Caitlyn Hynes, to a meeting, in interest of resolution, which she had accepted. On her terms, we met at the Altar, which I approached unarmed and unguarded. Despite differences of opinion, I have made proper accommodation, according to her wise counsel, in the interest of the safety and security of the community henceforth.

So, for those of you who would believe that violence and disorder are the only options - rather than that of truce, which I have so persistently offered you - I only ask you this: shall the blood we shed today, as brothers and sisters of Asgarnia, and as torchbearers of enlightenment, be worth scorched earth and desolation tomorrow?

If it is reform you desire, then it shall be better earned in a meeting under a white flag of truce. But if you shall continue upon this path of mutiny, I can only guarantee that the Republic shall be ready and willing to preserve and protect the law of the land.
Hi, I'm Dan.

The following letter made its way to Burthorpe Keep where it would be delivered to the hands of either the Lord Protector or a guard who wold deliver it to him. The well folded letter was sealed with the red-wax press-seal of Tommen Calderon.

"To His Excellency the Lord Protector,

The Southern Kingdom of Misthalin, also known as the bread-basket, and your Grand Republic are many leagues apart from one another; however, I believe it in our best interest to maintain a friendship through means of trade.

On behalf of her majesty the queen, Elrina Lansing, I cordially invite you to Lumbridge Keep where we will further discuss such measures in length.

Signed,
Lord Tommen Calderon,
Hand of the Queen."
