In the years that followed, the 16 year old Simon was well on track to becoming chief, despite his strange southern name. It was around this time, however, that the last of a dying race known as the Groths came through a harbinger rift to his village. They were large humanoids with a collection of horns on their head and spines down their back being the only characteristic to separate them from normal humans. They possessed a rare ability to see the weaknesses in objects and organisms and exploit them through contact, such as reopening a scar or splitting a cracked stone. The Groth, named Tzargin, became a welcome addition to the clan, and Simon saw him as a good friend. He told Simon a story of how his world had been fine, until a strange being came that they just referred to as “The Unsatiable One,” he fed off the anima in their world, as if he was draining it to recover strength, and then left, leaving their world dead. The sudden decrease in anima attracted an infestation of dark creatures that the Groths had never seen before, and they destroyed what remained on the world, with Tzargin being one of the few to escape through a rift. He then heard that the Unsatiable One had returned, and his new tribe of remaining Groths was slaughtered, forcing him to run again through another rift before arriving on Gielinor in Simon’s clan.


Simon and Tzargin built a strong friendship, and Simon continued to become a good hunter while Tzargin helped Simon learn about controlling his power. Soon after the Rift opened over West Ardougne, however, a strange figure appeared. Tzargin immediately went to battle it, claiming it was the Unsatiable One. However, Tzargin was blasted through the chest by this strange entity, who then proceeded to slaughter Simon’s tribe, forcing him to flee.

Grace/Racial Powers: Drake’s powers are mostly shadow based, and used in the following ways:

Shapeshifting: He’s able to take the form of anything ranging in the size and shape of a small mouse, to that of a large wolf. The form of whatever he takes will have darker coloration to it.

Shadow control: He’s able to use shadows in the form of magic based attacks, obviously more powerful in darker environments and weaker in bright city centers.


Sentient Shadow: His own personal shadow seems to have a mind of it’s own, often splitting from his body. When it does this, it is able to take possession of one of the puppets Drake keeps in his pack.

Full form: When he forms both his wings, and halo the light in the area diminishes, strengthening his shadow-based techniques.

Talents/Skills:

Music and dance: Drake’s a musician by nature, being proficient in violin, sitar, and percussion instruments. Oh. And Dance.

Tinkering: Drake’s always had a bit of interest in seeing how things tick. And for him, most those ticking things have a big boom at the end of them.


Weapons/Specialized Tools: Drake carries around a soft padded bag, and a hard box-like case at his side which he carries his various specialty objects. He also has his violin-case stored along his back

In the padded bag: Small orbs in the shape of pumpkins. Each with painted a different color to reflect the different mixtures inside. (Mainly
smoke bombs
,
small explosives
,
tear gas
and
shrapnel bombs
. Each bomb is only triggered when sparked by a bit of his shadow energy.)

In the hard case: He also has anywhere between one to four puppets made of a steel structure and a wooden exterior. Each one has concealed blades within their body. At the bottom of the hard case is also where he stores a number of strange pieces, scraps and whatnot for tinkering about. Oh, and his tool roll.



Weaknesses: Any form of holy or ‘blessed* objects may not harm him fully, but sure are uncomfortable. To reach his full potential, he needs to be in an area full of well. Shadows. Too much light will weaken his abilities.

Appearance:
Eyes: Dark green.
Hair: Silver, in a mullet.
Height: 5’11”
Build: Lean.
Other features: He has the ability to form his wings and halo, made of shadows.


Brief History: Drake may talk about a lot of random things, but the full of his history is not one. Though, I’m sure if you listen to enough of his songs, it*ll all piece together.
