Appearance: While it's actual height potentially varies, it always shares a set series of characteristics. Most obvious at a glance is the arcane cloth that binds the creature, frequently forming a sort of robes around it's body.
It's weight is immeasurably heavy, and travels only through it's own power. If it should drop to the ground, the astronomical weight would cause significant damage. If, for any reason, it's bindings are peeled away to any degree, the only thing one might see inside of them is a single orb, roughly the size of a fist. It absorbs all of the light that touches it, rendering it the darkest object a mortal can witness. In some instances, simply gazing at the infinite blackness of the orb can render some mortals insane.
It's binding's most unusual visual element is a single large claw of brass. It is not strong or sharp enough to be used in melee combat, and it's purpose is currently a mystery.
In addition to the above, it is always levitating off of the ground under it's own power.
Brief History: The earliest record of this creature seems to be engraved on a set of ancient tablets from the earliest civilizations of man. An ancient mage of incredible power, who was an extremely early astromancer called forth the hunger that lurks between worlds, and bound it's hunger. The tablets do not indicate his reasoning, but they are very specific as to the result. The creature consumed it's maker, and went on to wipe out the civilization that spawned it. It's inhuman mind was surprised at it's development of taste, and found that the essence of sentient beings was especially pleasant. Over time, it's hunger began to focus more and more on sentients, until it was eventually bound through means not listed in the currently discovered tablets. The mages were unable to destroy it, so buried it beneath the earth in a tomb, onto which they layered as many protections as they could. Alas, even their best weaken with time. It has has been freed.
