In reality, Crossbows in roleplay are used such that:

1. They are more like modern automatic or semi-automatic assault rifles; think MK14 or G3.

2. They can have large magazines; a handheld one can hold 15 bolts, no problems.

3. They pierce platemail or godmod. Seriously, people, why do people wear platemail if it can get pierced by everything? The reason heavily armored knights dominated the world for 500 years is because the only thing that can penetrate platemail with reasonable success is a crushing weapon such as a mace or maul.

4. They can accuratly hit targets over 300m away. This is about the average range of the modern sniper rifle, BTW.

5. Most are fitted with an ACOG scope.

1. Some repeater crossbows do exist, however they do not have the same stopping power as a cranequin, lever, or whatever else somebody uses.

2. Bolt racks, I imagine, would likely hold no more than ten small bolts unless somehow secured in a magazine fashion; and even then, these would have to be small given the materials.

3. Not all can. Some can pierce from maybe a hundred feet, given the crossbow is powerful enough, the bolt is sharpened, it hits a weak point, etc.

4. Um... No. The only person I even /know/ of who can shoot 300+ yards with anything was Kodi, and she had a Mongol-Styled bow. She's taken shots at 400+ meters, with a scope, complex calculations, the works.

5. Scopes do exist in the game. However, none would be considered an ACOG. In fact, I'd imagine these were designed for that specific weapon, not just any scope you can buy anywhere.

You're thinking a normal rifle, maybe, or a really old sniper rifle... most have ranges exceeding a kilometer, if not more if I'm correct. "A silly ***** is what I'm going to call **** jokes from now on."

Alright, then. I'm going to design my modern compound crossbow, sneak up on you, then proceed to fire several bolts into you without tiring. Or maybe I'll take real-world metals and create a sword stronger than dragon. "A silly ***** is what I'm going to call **** jokes from now on."
