Haha, I should have looked before I posted that I guess. I haven't played this game in like a year xD Just gettin' back into it

Haunt
- If a body is too mangled and the will of the spirit is strong enough to cling to the realm of the living, sometimes they don't pass, remaining as spirits. This can lead to interesting, if hard to implement roleplay. Revival/Necromancy is not possible at this stage, due to the lack of body.
...That is, unless your character is found by one of a handful of human scientists both intelligent and insane enough to stick a head onto random body parts and get it to work...
This could do with a bit of a rewrite, given some new lore that came out with Missing, Presumed Death. I was reading
this
, which is the Book of the Underworld.
It says,
"Although he is unwilling to shed much light on the subject, I believe that Death is sometimes unable to completely sever a soul's tie to the physical world. It seems this is due to an overpowering will to stay or 'unfinished business'. This is why there are ghosts in the surface world; they still remain attached to the realm of the living. In some extreme cases a person may return to life, with Death refusing to reap their soul as their fate yet holds great importance."
Might be worth mentioning that in the guide section on death. Where it wouldn't be known In-Character, it's worth noting Out-Of-Character if you're considering having your character come back as a ghostie.

I've also been having a read through, and I'm having a few issues understanding some parts. A main reason for this is formatting. For example,

~ This is a Thought. ~
A way to show what a character is thinking.
Do note that Lunar Mages can read surface level thoughts.
Personally, the "~This is a thought"~ should be underlined, or something similar, so the posts flow more. Or, you could try formatting them like this:
Thoughts
A thought can be shown by encasing the text using a pair of tildes. Thoughts are used to add small additional bits of information to a scene in order to further express a characters emotions, or simply to show what they are thinking, and will go unheard by other characters. However, Lunar mages are able to read unprotected thoughts. These should be used sparingly, as they don't always add much to a roleplay.
# - Some Players use the Pound Symbol/Number Sign as a ''Long Comment Sign'' to show they are typing a long response, to avoid another player jumping at making one first.
Example: #: -Long message.-
I've also never seen anyone use this. I think common practice is to add a double hyphen at the end of every statement except the last, and at the start of every statement exept the first. For example:
• Line 1: "Well, Jimmy wasn't doing too well today... I think --
• Line 2: "-- he was going to go down to the gardens. You know, --
• Line 3: "-- the one where that old White-Knight sits? He woke --
• Line 4 "-- up feeling ill, mind. I don't think he went."

[[insert device speech here]]
Many devices exist in Gielinor for long-distance speech. Enchanted gems, commorbs, and faction banners among them. Use of any such device should be mentioned in Public chat, while you speak with it over PM, Friend's Chat, or Clan Chat.
Example: [[Hey. Is your larder running? Well you better go catch it!**
I've not seen people use this, either. I think common practice is to use a pair of curley brackets around the text. For example: {"Is my commorb working, Joe? Can you hear me?"}
It might be worth running through the posts and having a bit of a tidy. Throw some borders in, some colour, and fix a few censors that's around the place. If you're not too savvy with borders, contact
That's a good way to clarify, and you're right, no one uses pound. I just more or less left it in there because there was space.
But brackets are used for commorbs or at least I use them now because after the font change in game, braces and parenthesis are very hard to tell apart. The font on the forum and font in game are different.
I don't think borders are needed. I'd rather have as much space as possible to make edits.

Talk to people around the community, and see what they use more. You'll probably find they use curley brackets for commorb devices over what you list, and if that happens, you should change it. The guide should teach people the common practices of the community, so when they join they're not getting confused, rather than listing what you use.

If you say so. It's annoying when I can't tell the difference between braces and parenthesis, but I changed the description anyway. I could just have bad eyes.

For the death section, please point out that claiming Death had someone's deceased character return to life is not a valid option simply because the player isn't wanting the character to be gone. I already know several players who tried abusing this.
''Death brought my character come back to life'' = possible but publically unacceptable special snowflake.
I'd say that's a matter between killer and killee. Open to more discussion, of course, but I think the potential for abuse there could just be dealt with on a personal case by case basis.
