The means in which this community was able to thrive in the past was through a mutual trust and respect for one another to engage in meaningful, fun RolePlay together without the interference of out of character emotions and actions.
I am not an active member of this community anymore, but I still care for it and would love to see it thrive again, but from the outside looking in and indeed from the perspective of a 'new comer' Everybody here makes this place look very intimidating. People come and go because they feel unwelcome and that is solely down to the bitter, toxic behavior I see and hear about weekly. You have all become so hostile toward individuals or groups of fellow roleplayers that you have created this nasty environment of 'cliques' and are very defensive of them, causing you to shun and proclaim "who the hell are you?" in the face of newbies who would like to join in.
"Mutual trust and respect for one another."
Creating alternate accounts to deceive members of this community is unethical and wrong regardless of how strongly you believe it negates metagame. You're forcing yourself in to the mindset that your peers cannot be trusted so you must undermine them. At that point you're not even playing for fun you're just trying to +1 eachother for the bragging rights and it has nothing to do with RolePlay or the plot. When you are found out to have broken that trust barrier, the consequences are threads like these and a vicious cycle of tasteless jokes and digs fired back and forth.
Unfortunately, this kind of behavior has been going on for so many years now I don't think many of you are capable of trusting one another anymore to just roleplay and have a good time.
Stop hating eachother, stop deceiving eachother, stop assuming because - 'oh it's that clique trying to roleplay with us' - that they're doing it to undermine or +1 you and quite frankly get down off your high horses because reading this thread you all have as much problems as the next guy.
