Not a point of taking over or continuing this roleplay; we're discussing ending it altogether.
We've done so many storylines and have reached the point where so few are interested anymore. Better to end it now and have fond memories.
Roll a D20 to pay respects.
i've actually been thinking about this rp recently, i've just started rewriting a story that ties into the first (and only, haha) plot I hosted at the tower. I don't think w41 as a whole is ever coming back but people have been talking about finishing the tower's story for a while now.
If we tried a project to finish the tower's story, it's a good idea to try and bear in mind how many people would be there to RP their characters.
As far as I can tell, I would still RP Aubere, Cat would RP Dawn and Lagasse would RP Ali- but what about all the other characters of the tower with RP'ers who quit? Are we going to try and RP their characters in their absence?
Even if we pressed by the moral qualms with RP'ing their characters for them and finishing off their stories, we then have to ask ourselves if we should even bother, given that we're three people trying to finish the story of an entire RP playerbase, lol.
Truth be told. I wouldn't mind starting anew from the first Arc still listed here. Do it as a private thingie so we can do whatever we want. With membership we can work with a lot more areas. It'd take some time to get all the plots written out, but just from a glance I can see how I could tie stuff together.
Hm. In retrospect though, it'd be a little weird to start back up with what we currently have. I feel like it might be better to start anew or something, but keep those arcs in mind for something that can be done later on if we want it to have some kind of continuity instead of jumping right in.
It would certainly be easier to do a series of conclusion roleplays. We could set these in a fairly distant future (after the Varrock Academy roleplay), which would allow us to write out other characters fairly easily. You wouldn't really even have to acknowledge specifically what happened (a la Logan).
Starting over is something I hadn't considered. I feel like even on 42 getting a crowd together to keep a roleplay going is difficult. I'm certainly up for trying but a sequel roleplay would be easier.
So... A Next Next Generation kind of deal? This would allow us to pretty much do whatever we want since it'd be ahead of the time line. Assume something fairly boring in regards to the Canon events of the Gods and all that, or at the very least an Apocalypse How didn't occur and the situation returned to normal fairly quickly without lasting repercussions.
The plot takes place ~30 years after the last Tower plot. The Tower had been left behind a while ago but a small group of Misthalite wizards move back in after a Mahjarrat attacks Varrock and destroys the Academy of Magic. While trying to get the place back up and running they run into various problems, like the Tower of old, or we can go right through to the main plot. There's the Mahjarrat to deal with, and permanent portals to the Runespan are opening up in a series of events linked to the first ever plot at the Tower.
