A visit with Alex Aerendyl

Dear readers, it is a pleasure to be writing for you once more. After events on Karamja I found it necessary to take a short break from writing. Rest assured I will be able to relate those events once the time is right. To kick things off again in the mean time, I visited Alexander Aerendyl, the Grand Master of The Chapter of the Lux Veritatis, to speak to him about the Chapter's reformation and the battle between Armadyl and Bandos.
Why have you chosen this moment to reform the Lux Veritatis?
Alex:
The Lux Veritatis, in its heyday, represented many things. In an era where insidious men like Russia walked this plane, we represented, most of all, a degree of hope. We live now in a time of turbulence, where the gods themselves do battle around us. Thus, I am bound by duty to try to supply some hope once more. There is no more disheartening thing to come across than those who have forsaken hope, and so for them at least I try to help, but also there's the point of making a genuine effort and genuine change against the dark forces that pervade the world today.
So will the Lux Veritatis be taking a more proactive approach to the war?
Alex:
Depends what you mean. I have no intention to
proliferate
war. War is a reprehensible and evil thing and thus as an Armadylean, I must seek to restore peace. However, if war is the only tool available to bring freedom to people and support justice? Well, my history shows my decisions.
Did the Lux Veritatis play a role in the battle against Bandos?
Alex:
I only recently reformed the Lux Veritatis, although I did actively fight for Armadyl's forces in the recent theatre of war. I took command at the Battle of Gunnarsgrun, where, despite victory over the Bandosians, we were routed by what could be described as an even greater threat.
One man's trash is another's treasure, and one man's cash buys another's pleasure.
So I'll rob from the cradle, and I'll rob from the grave; it's just human traffic, and I'm just a slave.
