Oh, another question.

Your production costs list the cost to print each paper, but there's no mention of employee wages anywhere. I'd like to get paid, ya know*

**, well, I never did put it on there and just let people rofl their pay. But, if you want too you can come up with some payment weekly for each staff job. I'm bad at that kind of thing.

Sorry for the late reply! Thanks for accepting me, I'm very happy to be writing for this newspaper and a part of this team. For my color, I'll use
limegreen
.

As for covering Novtumberfest, it appears the event starts around 3:00PM my time and the earliest I can be on is about 4:00PM. I'll try to attend the event as early as possible, but from the looks of it, the event is going to be several hours long - hopefully I won't miss much. I'll have a friend who will be able to attend the event from the beginning fill me in on what I missed afterward.

I apologize for the poor quality of my article, I would have spent more time on it, but it is unfortunate that this weekend -my first weekend on the job- is to be disrupted so that I will not be able to sustain reliable internet contact. Please feel free to edit or completely artificially manufacture pieces of the article that you think would add something for the reader (All good articles always offend at least one group of people, so I would start there).

(( I don’t recall how I came across this thread as I don’t frequent W42, with the exception of Crashed Stars and Warbands (though on the day which the BoL ended I did RP myself finding a tiny winged kitten under a fallen tree branch, no doubt left behind when Saradomin teleported away with his army).

Even though I don’t RP on W42, I just want to say that this newspaper is outstanding. You all are a very talented and creative group of writers. In this issue and in the one which was posted here a few days ago, I am particularly intrigued by both the Karamja Shipyard account and the Through Fractured Glass series. No doubt I will be checking this thread in order to read the continuation of both of those stories.

I am tempted to make an RP character just so I can have this newspaper delivered to my home in Taverley. *grins*

I’m looking forward to reading future issues. Keep up the good work.

NOVTUMBERFEST, THE FUN FEST

On the 1st of Novtumber, the White Knights of Falador held a grand festival in their citadel known as 'Vallancia'. The first thing one could see upon entering was the decorations, which added a spooky atmosphere to the decked out citadel.

Buxom maidens in lederhosen walked around the grounds happily, handing out ale with a smile. After the crowd of entering people thinned out the first event began - a drinking contest. Participants gulped down tankards of ale for the prize of gold coins and the winner won the event with eleven tankards consumed.

With the guests liquored up the second event began - a miming contest. The participants began trying to copy a mime with hair the color of blood and tested their ability to perform while slightly or very intoxicated. A woman by name of Eravvi won this event. When the miming contest won the guests were led to a very large maze, specially made for Novtumberfest.

The maze was made of stone and metal, with plenty of tricks and traps. The race added a quick-paced flare to the event and participants rushed and whirled in all directions. Even the correspondent covering the event found she could not penetrate the maze's core and make it past the middle before a very fast guest won.

After the guests got their blood pumping and energy rushing, they went over to a room designed and modeled after the Party Room. The people who participated in this event pulled out all their moves and chatted - fun was certainly had by all in this relaxed event. Balloons fell shortly after full of random prizes.

The last event was a costume contest. Most guests donned their outfits for the entire evening, but a few rushed to changing rooms after dancing for last-minute alterations or to get into costume. The correspondent there was very surprised, along with the hosts Sir Bool and Lord Dion of Entrana, of the effort put into the outfits. Many were homemade or evidently had a fair bit of coin spent on them.

The hosts decided that to pick only three winners was too little for the masses of dressed up people. After a few minutes of discussion, a few more winners were picked amidst a clapping crowd. The winners lined up toward the audience and smiled as they received their prizes. There were a few jealous members of the audience, but all in all, it was an enjoyable event.

When the winner of the mime event, Eravvi, was asked about the highlights of her evening she decided the maze and costume contest were her favorite parts, "It [the maze] was a bit tricky but I can't say it wasn’t enjoyable! That and the fact I got to dress up, nothing beats a good dressing up now does it?"

By all accounts Novtumberfest was a complete success. Sir Bool Cowbra of the White Knights could not be reached for comment, but the pumpkin-headed commander certainly held visible excitement throughout the evening as he hosted the events.

My first article! It was a bit rushed as the event was pretty close to the deadline but I hope it's acceptable. I've certainly had fun at Novtumberfest and writing this article. :)

This week's article is finished, and can be found you-know-where.

If it isn't too late to request that picture Queenie, I'd still like to request one. Would you be able to do some sort of artist's rendition of the man Tame spoke to last week? It'd be him on the docks at Musa Point, staring out to sea (as he is in this week's article) while holding his runestone. He's dressed sort of like a banker, looking very un-Karamjan, despite being native to it. His hair is particularly short. If you need any more information, let me know. Also if you need to know where the article is to refer to it, I'll tell you in-game.

Sorry it's so late. I scrapped my original idea for this week, and didn't write the new one until today.

^ This is why we do what we do. It's so nice to hear back from people. Thank you, Spiritika. It means a lot.

That's fine. I normally write mine really quick the night before - Even now I haven't had a chance to write it yet. I've had a quick look and it seems alright anyway. Thanks!

Like Sand said, comments like this are what make our work worth while. We don't often get people telling us they read the paper, or even when they say they do they don't say if they liked it or not. So, we really appreciate comments like this. It makes us want to do it even more! ^_^

Thank you!

Thanks! I don't normally give people a day to write an article, so you did really well for your first one. Thanks!

Oh, another thing.... I think Kodi's character, Acer 'Ace' Laminas is dead, so you might want to cancel that subscription...

I'll delete that one now. Do you think it's worth doing a subscription renewal check? Just to see if people still want their subscription.

NOTICE

As you can see, the paper hasn't been updated yet which is entirely my fault. I've had a tiring weekend, so this may be a bit late being posted. It'll either come tomorrow (Monday) or Tuesday. College and work was a bit overwhelming this weekend.

@ STAFF

I'll be posting the next task list tomorrow, regardless of if the new issue is out.

Thanks!
