"My friend,

It is likely my fault that your brother of blood has betrayed this Kingdom but he will be stopped. For the greater good of the people, I will halt my march on Catherby and Sinclair so that I may personally see to it that Caedus Aren is stopped once and for all.

I will rendezvous with you and men of the thirteenth in Yanille in three days time.

Signed,
Tommen Calderon."

The Twin Children of the new King, despite their young age, were successful in leading a group of men and elves to recapture Rodholm.

Where light Fremennik resistance was expected, the adventurers found Rodholm deserted and devoid of anything living. Though it was the opposite that the group came to fear: battling both the weather and a sudden uprising of long dead Fremennik Warriors, they nearly lost life and limb for every foot they advanced.

Come midnight the group finally reached the heavy wooden doors of Rodholm only to be met, for a final time, by undead archers. It was an Aren who fell that night in the far reaches of Camelot... but it would seem that the North was not yet done with Camelot... and neither were the undead.

Here's a GIF courtesy of Dim! Thank-you to all that showed up. There will be more Rodholm related plots coming.

Event
Title: Return to The Abyss..

Date and Time: Sunday, February 26th. 7:00 P.M. C.S.T.

Starting Location: Outside of Aspecta Tower, south-west of Catherby.

Synopsis: Caedus Aren has spread the Thorvaldian plague upon Yanille. The citizens have been turned to undeath as he has collectively gathered an undead army, perhaps following the foot-steps of another Aren who attempted this act. This time though, the heroes will have to come to unholy ground, meet on his turf. The Aren have decided to stop him before he invades Kandarin, we can only hope it's not too late...
We might've just created something very powerful, something that can change the world.
The Last of the Aren's.

(( This is to All Aren Council members actively playing.))

A message by way of formal letter on beautiful Aren family stationary would be magically delivered to each of the current Council members. The words were handwritten by Yselt, herself. It would state the following, the heading would address each one individually as it was sent on an official, but personal level, sealed with the familiar red wax family seal.
It would read as follows:

I am writing each of you to hold a meeting between the Council in the presence of the King of Camelot, oer his express request. There are urgent matters to discuss and your attendance is sincerely needed. I do realize we have had quite a few circumstances within our own family structure that has taxed us so, each one, personally. But I would not reach out to you unless I thought it important.

Your quick reply is needed so that I may set up a date and time for us, the Aren Council, with His Majesty, King Tommen, in the Royal city of Camelot for a formal meeting of the minds.

A beautiful flourish of script would end the letter.

Yselt Aren
Lady Mother of House Aren
Archmage of Camelot

(( Get back to me or Steve soon, please. I am off the rest of this DXP weekend and Monday. Also next Friday, the 24th - for sure. ))

Yselt Aren was witness to a wedding today. Details of who the bride was bothered her to no end. How unfair it was that this person got her happy ending after what she believed to be the beginning of an unhappy demise ofher Grand Master and dear family member just weeks before. This stressed a great delimma upon Yselt being it clashed with her service to the King and what would be his new sister-in-law, the bride in question.

Shadow and light danced upon the young woman's face, mirrored in the multifacets of amber colored eyes as she stared, lost, into the flames. The hearth was framed by a thin layer of soot extending past the decorative marble finish telling a tale of an overpowered surge from within the enclove set into the wall of her bedroom. Candles and trinkets aligned the shelf above, melted and some scorched or tarnished from the same accidental inferno caused by Yselt's sometimes unstable affinity with the destructive element she was born with and the Aren's curse of Wrath, which came along with it.

Scenes from her mind's eye muddled the ginger's head, thinking on the events which have brought her to where she was now, in life. The recent changes were coming at her swiftly, sometimes to where she accepted things with little thought about herself, more about the concequences of refusing to adapt for the sake of family or friendship. Yselt also suffered from the chains of an undying Loyalty to those who mattered, especially her blood kin, the Aren line which spread far and wide the world she lived in. The need to please and be faithful to a fault played a major role in her current predicament that tormented her as she gazed off into the blaze burning a few feet in front of her.

(...cont.)

Days of sitting alone in the tower studying her gift was gone. That all changed about the time Yselt met Ren. A funny situation which eventually helped shaped the naive girl into the ever evolving woman she was now. Once a meek pyromage practicing to no longer burn herself in the process of teleportation, to the newly appointed Archmage for the kingdom of Camelot. Potential, a word Ren used more than once to pay her a compliment, may have been the very thing seen by King Tommen, himself. Were they right? Could she live up to this and not let them down? This was her struggle The weight was heavy on her small, yet proven to be stronger than she gave herself credit for, shoulders. It was a known fact of the Aren bloodline. The woman were gifted a greater strength in both power, and tenacity. Yselt was learning this through experience, the hard way.

If personal change was not enough, the entire structure of her family Council was falling apart. Demons were definitely not slacking off for those close to her, as well. The loss of two Grand Masters in less than a fortnight created a huge rift in their circle. the titled members were dealt a hand not so easily played and Yselt stressed over all the parts she was given and felt responsible for to keep what threads of their family was left, together. One thing she felt deeply about was her unyielding commitment and getting it right. She would not let them down. She would not fail. Failing meant she was not worthy of the blood coursing though her veins, which drove her more than anything.
