Not sophisticated compared to astronomy of Galileo and his contemporaries.
Ah yes, who could forget the "discovery" of the heliocentric system by Galileo and his contemporaries, eh?

Except, they weren't the first in modern history to realize the heliocentric astronomy of our solar system. The Sumerians discovered that 4500 years prior to it being "discovered" in the 1500's.

Lost technology doesn't mean no-technology. People need to start realizing that our ancient ancestors may have known a lot more than they are given credit for.
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great! :)

So, do you want to discuss any examples?

You said all I need to know... maybe not a picture of a dinosaur, also, maybe fake.

People may have been aware of strange bones thousands of years ago but just because they didn't write an essay about it doesn't mean they didn't know about such bones.

So many "maybes" your assumptions are about as much proof as nexorigin and his drawings that may or may not be a dinosaur and may or may not be hundreds of years old.

Ancients drew all sorts of puctures which weren't destroyed through the passage of time... Its hard to believe if they knew about dinosaurs and if they spoke about dinosaurs no one wrote a thing about them before 1700.

I think that is the case. Astronomy has advanced a lot earlier in human history than Biology and Archaeology IMHO.

I'm not really into the whole astrology thing either but this thread isn't about all that. This thread isn't about the big bang. This thread isn't about evolution. This thread isn't about germ theory and whether or not we can actually see virus and mutations. This thread is about dinosaurs.

I'm curious to see if there is any writings or drawings of dinosaurs before 1700.

I 100% agree with that statement. I'd take that statement a step further and say we know less. Our superiority complex has taken us down the wrong paths. Our desires for fame and fortune has created a sort of Hollywood science.

I don't think we are smarter or more advanced than our ancestors.

Computer technology has been created before. Computers have a life. Computers are like a hard copy/book diary. Eventually ya run of pages. Computers always end up dying.
Dear God, please send the competition, feels like there ain't any.
I long lost count of the victories, there were just far too many.

Are you? Because the first one... you immediately dismissed it.

The Nile Mosaic of Palestrina is a tile mosaic that was made around 150 BC, which among other scenes, depicts various animals being hunted. One of those animals being hunted appears to be a dinosaur:

^ That doesn't exactly align with historians.

Apparently dinosaurs went extinct in a global catastrophe, small mammals survived, evolution happened, and then humans existed.

Did we exist along side dinosaurs, or did evolution happen?
---
I think that's a crocodile. My guess is the artist never saw a crocodile and created the mosaic from descriptions.
---

As for King Nabonidus, he was a satanist, moon worshipping, werewolf. He liked the dragon, not dinosaurs.

If I showed you this picture:

Would you assume that humans lived alongside dinosaurs? Or would you assume that's how we pictured a dinosaur would look, based on the bones?

My guess is the artist in both pictures has never seen a dinosaur in real life, and has to create one from discrimination.

The modern dinosaur feels more dinosaur like because that's how you've grown up to know it.

But um, we don't actually know if dinosaurs looked. We don't even know if they had feathers or not. A T-Rex might have looked like a giant chicken for all we know. The bones don't tell us about that unfortunately.

Giant feathered dinosaurs might look quite odd, and might make you ask if the person was actually drawing a chicken, and not a dinosaur, but, in reality, the feathered dinosaur might be more accurate even though it feels more alien that what you're accustomed to.

Hey, everyone's gotta have a saturday night, right?

Plus, how do you know his dragon wasn't a dinosaur? The words virtually mean the same thing; large reptile.

That picture proves about as much as the mosaic, nothing. The mosaic clearly has crocodiles, not dinosaurs.

Bones? What bones? They're fossils. Rock. No DNA. No flesh. No bone

I'm not even sure if the bones turn to rock or if the bones left an impression in the rock.

The Dragon is not a reptile. Runescapes depiction of The Dragon is not The Dragon. The Dragon is The Devil. The Dragon has always been The Devil.

Yea, yea, critize me all you want about my imaginary friend while u believe in dragons and dinosaurs - pretty hypocritical if u ask me.

Behold, indisputable evidence that man and unicorn once co-existed in harmony:

Lol. I like it. Without knowing the truth about unicorns, with a picture like that you could persuade any girl to leave their tent and run off with you.

Looks like they used to have blue trees!! Woah, I never imagined blues trees and grass before. Imagine a world full of blue trees and grass.

Doesn't actually seem like you're interested in seeing ancient depictions of dinosaurs. You say you are, but, it seems like you're only saying that so you can dismiss the images.
