I work in QA, testing lots of new and upcoming pieces of content that's going to be headed to RuneScape shortly; for example I'm currently testing Menaphos looking for bugs, graphical errors, typos and even just exploring the city - trying to make sure everything is all well and ready for the release!

Before working at Jagex, I worked for a bank: I started in banking, after college, selling Mortgages and eventually moved up to work with Business Banking Teams dealing with customers with an annual turn over of £1m - £5m.

Then ever further back from that I worked in a pub and worked in fast food resturants.

Banking and fast food wasn't very fun, so I decided to follow my dreams of working at Jagex and here I am. :) As such I always like to encourage people to follow their heart and dreams, because if I can do it... anyone can! :p

Do you guys use stochastic calculus?

Depends on the subfield. Stochastic calculus appears mostly in continuous-time finance models. It can also show up in market design--under certain assumptions prices evolve as a martingale.

Would you happen to know of a good source for learning mathematical finance? As a math person I'm familiar with measure theory and some probability, but my knowledge of finance is next to zero. I was just curious after having listened to a few lectures on the basics of stochastic calculus

A good undergraduate/MBA level textbook is "Investments" by Bodie, Marcus, Kane
