What are your opinions on the Kray Twins?

Interesting? Odd? Or simply just complete menaces that should have been done away with?

I don't have much of an opinion myself at the moment and never interacted with them, however have known they have had many interactions with celebrities and some members of the public.

Ronnie & Reggie Kray were a nasty pair of total psychopaths.

They are known to have been involved in murder, armed robbery, arson, protection racketeering and violent assault, not to mention desertion from the army. Ronnie Kray was a certified paranoid schizophrenic and died in a mental institution.

I remember listening to an interview with Mike Tyson about the Kray twins awhile ago, and I had no idea people idolised the Kray twins. It's been so long since I heard it, that I can't remember what theory they offered as to why.

As for my opinion of them. They are dead gangsters. That's where my opinion ends.

I was not aware they were deserters. Interesting. And yes I was slight confused as to why some people idolised them too. I guess it is somewhat refreshing to see Arch, Nick and BreakingBad's take on them though. Guess it goes to show I'm not mad in thinking they shouldn't simply be idolised based on what they managed to "achieve" lol... O_o

IMO it isn't hard to achieve anything through illegal means. After a stint in the prison/legal system I've been offered upwards of £100K+ many times to do things, however it's much more satisfying to deny them absolutely everything they ask. It's not difficult to make lucrative illegal actives, nor to use pure violence in order to achieve your goals, ergo I have absolutely no respect for anyone who does, achieving what they've done takes nothing but lacking conscience unfortunately

I come from the same area as the Kray twins.
Everyone who has had family round there for a certain amount of time knows all about them. Indeed, the legend of the Krays protected their erstwhile gang members for a surprisingly long time - after their prosecution, and even after their deaths.

I even met 'Mad' Frankie Fraser at a friends house once. Well, more of an acquaintance.
He was (seemingly) a kindly old gentlemen at that stage in his life, making money from giving 'Kray Twin" themed guided tours of the East End.
As I remember, he gave my acquaintance a signed copy of his new book.
