Power talk!
In mechanic system, a bigger cogwheel with more cogs than a smaller cogwheel with lesser cogs will just make more rotation speed as an output with reduced strength in a rate of 1:2 or 2:1. Reversed will make lesser rotation speed as output but increased strength.
For example bikes, your legs are giving a cogwheel in rotation to transfer the power and rotation to the final wheel. Your legs are rotating in a bigger diameter area than the center of the wheel to the cogwheel which makes power with reduced rotaion speed as output.
In hydraulic system, the method is reversed. Smaller pistons transfer more powers via liquid or oil in a closed system to bigger pistons as final power output. Jack is just an extreme example. It uses this power transfer method.
In pneumatic system, it is same as above in reversed. Pressured air going through small holes in a system and out to bigger holes in a closed system to a piston which generates more power as output to the final piston.
Physical system like a scissor or monkey wrench gives extra power to the smaller head. The movement of the shaft length generates strength to the smaller scissor blades or monkey wrench head. Another example why your hand palm can block and reduce the opponent's punch effect is that your hand palm has bigger area than the opponent's fist which makes it to be much weaker when the fist lands like hammer head crushes a nail easy because of the head diameter area is bigger on the hammer.
I'm gaÿ.
