I've been contemplating this thread on and off for a while. All manner of things have sprung to mind; from making the Enola Gay crash-land at sea before she reached her target, to ensuring myself winning a huge sum on the Lottery - and many other things as well.
I just can't decide, lol!
How long would it delay the Americans from nuking Hiroshima? a couple of months or years? I'm pretty sure they would still nuke it anyways.

its interesting that almost everyone wants to go back in time instead of forward. there are a lot of absolutely horrific things in our past that i can totally understand why people would want to change them
but id much rather see the future
You wouldn't want to go to far into the future because there might not be any humans left.

Whatever you do it could have unpredictable and possibly catastrophic consequences - unforeseen knock on effects even for seemingly slight and minor changes that would change the present.
Leave well alone.

I would refrain from using such an ability.
You don't know what consequences may be born as a result of such reckless actions.
Agreed. Before scientists performed enough research to figure out the precise mechanism of time travel, better play safe and refrain from time travel.
There are many things to consider before we embrace time travel. For instance: is the Butterfly Effect real? Is our timeline linear, circular or etc.? Are there more than one timeline (the concept of parallel universes comes to mind)? Is our timeline capable of correcting itself (if yes, in what sense?)? What happens when a paradox is created, or the timeline somehow prevent paradoxes from occurring? How do we know the birth of time travel mechanism is itself caused by the actions of future time travelers?
Deathless I see, but even immortals will not escape my wrath!
