Unfortunately I hate to break it to you but time travel doesn't work that way, only in science fiction could you go back in time and change the past to effect your future.
But in science fact, going back in time and changing a moment in history wouldn't effect YOUR timeline, only the one you just created by being there in the first place, so you'd remember history unfolding differently than others around you, and when you return to your present day, nothing will have changed and all you did was create a timeline in where that event unfolded differently.

However in the case of wanting to witness something I would love to go back in time to the creation of the universe to witness the true cause of the "Big Bang"
My theory is that once the universe expands to infinity and beyond and nothing is left, not even black holes, a new Big Bang happens, this means this has happened before and we're not the first universe in this sequence!

I believe there's a particle, or something else we haven't discovered that happens during a universes death that sparks a new beginning for the next universe.

But all that science nonsense behind me I'd very much like to see if the tales of King Arthur were true.
For the glory of the Empty Lord!

I would be reluctant to visit the past for fear of inadvertently activating the "Butterfly Effect."

There are people I would like to meet and have a conversation with, but knowing me, my mind would go absolutely blank and the questions I wanted to ask would be locked up in a filing cabinet in the back of my brain and I would be spending that time looking for the key. Write down the questions, you say. Yeah, right. That one has already been tried numerous of times. I'd either lose the paper or leave it at home.

Someone earlier mentioned that if the Germans had won WWI, the 3rd Reich wouldn't exist and WWII would never have happened. If that person went back in time and was able to, somehow, guarantee the Germans to win WWI, he may come back to present finding everyone speaking German.

Everything happens for a reason. For every action, there's a reaction. For every change, there's an unknown outcome, only assumptions.

Nope, I don't think I would take that opportunity. I know the outcome of history as we know it today, but I don't know the outcome if history was changed.

Oh Hello!
Yup. That's me.
Yes, I do.
Yup. And this.
Are you going to read out the whole thing?
I'm a time traveller. Or I was. I'm stuck in 1969.
Martha.
Quite possibly.
Afraid so.
Thirty eight.
People don't understand time. It's not what you think it is
Complicated.
Very complicated.
People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey stuff.
It got away from me, yeah.
Well, I can hear you.
Well, not hear you, exactly, but I know everything you're going to say.
Look to your left.
I've got a copy of the finished transcript. It's on my autocue.
I told you. I'm a time traveller. I got it in the future.
Yeah. Wibbly wobbly, timey-wimey.
What matters is, we can communicate. We have got big problems now. They have taken the blue box, haven't they? The angels have the phone box.
Creatures from another world.
Only when you see them.
The lonely assassins, they used to be called. No one quite knows where they came from, but they're as old as the universe, or very nearly, and they have survived this long because they have the most perfect defence system ever evolved. They are quantum-locked. They don't exist when they're being observed. The moment they are seen by any other living creature, they freeze into rock. No choice. It's a fact of their biology. In the sight of any living thing, they literally turn to stone. And you can't kill a stone. Of course, a stone can't kill you either. But then you turn your head away, then you blink, and oh yes it can.
That's why they cover their eyes. They're not weeping. They can't risk looking at each other. Their greatest asset is their greatest curse. They can never be seen. The loneliest creatures in the universe. And I'm sorry. I am very, very sorry. It's up to you now.
The blue box, it's my time machine. There is a world of time energy in there they could feast on forever, but the damage they could do...

could switch off the sun. You have got to send it back to me.
And that's it, I'm afraid. There's no more from you on the transcript, that's the last I've got. I don't know what stopped you talking, but I can guess. They're coming. The angels are coming for you. But listen, your life could depend on this. Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink. Good luck.

I would go back before ww2 and talk people into putting blister belts on all the carriers. To my knowledge, not one of the carriers were sunk due to bombs, but that might not be true. All of the carriers took huge amounts of damage from bombs, but they all sunk when AFTER being hit with multiple torpedo's. After they abandoned her, they tried to sink the Hornet with shells but failed. Only a hit from a sub sunk her. The war could have been a lot shorter if they had had more than the Enterprise for over a year.

You all realize that without bringing back future technology with you the majority of you would end up in an insane asylum and possibly lobotomized, or even killed depending on how far back you actually go if you claim to be from the future to anyone.

Another thing to keep in mind is that all the illnesses and sicknesses that you have been vaccinated for and the human immune system has adapted to today would wipe out entire civilizations a thousand years ago. You could seriously alter history to the point where you might not even exist without knowing it. It’d be exactly if extraterrestrial life were to visit Earth.

Anyway if it was a 1 way street no return back to this time I likely wouldn’t do it. I think the only thing I would do would be to go back to the Jurassic period to fight dinosaurs to the death.
I'm happy to be here! :)
