Also, your mother being a librarian doesn't mean she knows anything about writing books, and it wouldn't certify yourself a novelist either. She sure knows how to categorize books though.

Ultimately, writing a book comes down to individual preference in mediums. Either way, you gotta put something on the paper, or screen, in order to create a story in the first place. An author is going to write their best using the medium they're most comfortable with. Whether that's a pen, a oldschool typewriter, or a keyboard is up to them. WRITE!

I assume it was intended as an insult as no reasoning was ever given, thus it's likely you were trying to derail the thread.
