That Hideous Strength by C.S. Lewis.

A reread of a book that reminds me of current times.

David just posted this two days ago:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their well wishes. My eye surgery was a success (I hope it lasts) and I have started working again. Now that I can sit and write for more than fifteen minutes at a time, I hope to Have Master of the World done very soon and the Contest only weeks after. I want to thank you for your patience and hereby promise that with the upcoming novels you will be treated to rollercoaster rides you'll write home about....again, thanks so much for wishing me well and for waiting on me!

So glad his vision is back to normal. It would really suck for him to not be able to finish this next Event Group book because of his eyesight failing. Don't think I'll be rereading any of his books, but they'll always sit on their own section of my bookshelf. Season of the Witch was so good I read half of it at the library the day I got it. That doesn't happen too often with most books I read.

Sadly, Ben Bova died on Sunday. Rest in Peace 1932-2020, you were one of the last great Pulp writers. I just found out about this today. His Grand Tour series was the original The Expanse. This news is quite a surprise I didn't want to hear.

Apparently Exo-Hunter has some crossover characters from the author's other books. I like the limitation the laser pistols and rifles had in Alien Secrets, 4 shots in the pistol's batteries and 20 shots in the rifle's batteries. Very unlike Star Wars weapons which seem to have unlimited batteries. I still wish the "aliens" weren't just the dreamer ones, the grays and the saurians were both from Earth, grays from the distant future saurians from the age of the dinosaurs. Still no reviews of Stargods yet on Goodreads. Ready Player Two isn't too good looking at its Goodreads score compared to the first book but that doesn't matter to me I'm still reading it eventually. Surprised to see After Siege 4th book in as the world dies series so aiming to get that next year along with the spinoffs.

Facebook blocking lurker access again. Can't view David's facebook page without a popup saying you need to login to facebook to continue. Reddit hasn't noticed this issue yet, hoping they do soon. I need his page so I can see updates on his books.
