Great news from David again on his facebook page he responded to a comment 1 day ago:

Marco Lima in just two books away, you’ll see a Supernaturals/Event Group crossover Novel with crazy Charlie, Jack, Carl, professor Kennedy, Jennifer, and many more!

On page 108 of Voices of the fall. Can't expand the picture for Alien Secrets it links to needing to login, so I noticed on my copy of the book the bone shaped spaceship has ridges in the glowing parts and the trail of UFOs has Iron Crosses which means the UFOs are the Nazi ones. The Marines in Space first book takes place in a 2040s with more and less advanced tech. They had railguns and laser guns and ramjets, but the wrist mounted computers had Windows 98 level RAM. Was pretty interesting to see the tech go from that to more exotic by the final book.

Books to bring for Saturday-Monday break from the internet: Voices of the fall, River of Night, Alien Secrets, A Blight of Blackwings, At Death's Door and The Terrans to be read in that order. I should finish at least 1-2 books over that period.

Just finished reading Voices of the fall and Alien Secrets. Voices of the fall introduces an alternate method of zombie virus vaccine, the finely ground scalp of the Yeti. The short story where this is introduced ends with this no longer being a possibility, and some stories were loosely connected.

Alien Secrets seems to be the author's first foray into a Military Science Fiction that takes place current day instead of far into the future. New exciting tech and universe that kept me gripped the entire time. Looking forward to the sequel whenever that comes out.

Now I'm reading River of Night.

Great news. David Weber has a sequel to Out of the Dark 11 years later called Into the Light. This was a great read when I picked it up 5 years ago, so I'm definitely getting it in hardcover on January 12th. Interesting way the survivors beat the aliens in the first book with vampires in a scifi setting. I don't consider it science fantasy though, the vampires are still weak to all star's starlight not necessarily just our sun.

I haven't read anything for ages - our Libraries have all been shut down.
There's a few open now but none anywhere near me.

And no, I don't want to buy a Kindle or whatever - I like a real book.

Libraries around here implemented a pick-up system where you arrive, tell them your library card number over the phone, then they place your books on an outdoor table and watch as you collect them.

There's one that's going to be doing that in my nearest town, from later in October. But it's a minimum 30 minute drive to get there and the nearest car park costs £1.30 for an hour.

True, that's not a lot of money but it's a bit of a faff getting there. I'll probably just wait until something a bit nearer re-opens (a-hahaha!).
