I hate The Sims. I'm really bad at taking care of my people, so bad stuff always happens, but that's not really the problem. When I was, like, ten, my guy had to pee very badly. I didn't get him to the toilet in time, so he just went on the floor. My maid just completely ignored it, so I fired her and hired a new one. She also ignored it, and I was annoyed. I complained about it, and my cousin said, "
Well, yeah. If I peed on the floor in real life, do you think that my maid would clean it?
"
YES. It's her job.
I told this story to another cousin just the other day, and he was very condescending about it. "
No, that is NOT her job. There's a difference in having to clean up someone's houses and someone intentionally being disgusting.
"
No, there's really not. There's a difference in your life, but it doesn't change what her responsibilities are.
"
There are ways out of everything. Urine is a hazardous substance
."
It's just such a nonsensical argument. Could you imagine a janitor saying that he would not clean up pee on the floor because it's hazardous? She has to clean the toilet anyway, which contains the same stuff that you're whining about having to touch. Put on some gloves. Don't clean it if you're too disgusted to touch it. I'm not blaming you, and I'd feel bad for you while you did it if that were the case, but it is your job. If you won't clean it, good for you. That's your prerogative, but have fun finding a new job, Mr. Won't Clean.
