So a couple weeks ago, I got to have a goblet of the holy grail of all beers, that I never thought I would get to try.
I got to have a 10 oz pour of Pliny the Younger.
I was fearing that I was hyping it up too much for myself, but hooooly damn was that divine. Pliny the Elder had always been my favorite beer, and I never thought anything would be able to top it, but Younger took it up at least 5 notches.
It was a special event at a local Slater's 50/50 restaurant/pub (they get kegs of Elder often) where they actually got a keg of Younger. It was only 1 keg on 1 day, so when you went in, you had to get like a raffle ticket to exchange for a single 10 oz pour (it's how they made sure they had enough; they didn't hand out any more tickets than pours they had available).
I got there at like 8 in the morning (they open at 10:30) and there was already about 100 people in line before me. I was saving a spot for like 5 other friends who showed up an hour or so later, and we all got pours. It was awesome.
100/10 beer, and I'm spoiled now. After we had our pours of Younger, we got a round of Elder, and we were so spoiled, we were like "Eh, this Elder is nothing special" lmao
