Though I'm still not legally allowed to drink, I have had small amounts of Wine, Whiskey, Beer, and larger amounts of a non-alcoholic version of a blueberry grape juice cocktail that was designed to taste similar to the alcoholic type. Speaking of blueberry grape drinks, I often get awarded those from my parents during special events, etc. Needless to say, the blueberry grape cocktail juice in a bottle akin to that of champagne or wine won my vote for the most delicious 'mature' drink I've had in recent years.

It may not be alcohol, but I can tell you right now that it is still a very strong drink, and can easily upset your stomach if you don't treat it like an alcoholic drink. For instance, drink it slowly like alcohol, do not drink too much of it in one sip, and the ingredients contained within it can actually make you feel almost as if you're drunk or buzzed. I'm serious. It can make you act weird. I don't know if it's a substitute for alcohol designed towards young adults or teenagers who can't drink yet, but if so, then it's a huge success. I actually almost got sick and puked during a wedding party because it was so strong.

I won't lie, the first time I had these types of alcohol, I need only one phrase to describe them in terms of taste, and that phrase is strong and bitter. It may seem juvenile for me to say that, seeming as though I'm too young to understand it, but really, I have tried them multiple times, and yet my opinion on the tastes have not changed. By far the worst had to be some Cool Light Beer that I was offered by Mom in the Summer last year.

When I do turn 21, I don't know what brand I'll choose, but I will have a drink that day, and I'll celebrate. Chances are I won't drink much because of the cost of alcohol that can really add up over time. The same goes for Cigarettes I would rather use that money for important stuff, like bills and gas.

I'm avoiding all beers with hops in them now. In his book The Natural Testosterone Plan , Stephen Harrod Buhner writes:

"Hops is best known for its use in beer. The majority of physicians and men overlook its potent chemicals and do not realize that beer itself can significantly alter the male androgen levels. German beer makers noticed long ago that the young women who picked hops in the fields commonly experienced early menstrual periods. Eventually, researchers discovered the reason – hops is perhaps one of the most powerfully estrogenic plants on Earth. Just 100 grams of hops (about 3.5 ounces) contains anywhere from thirty thousand to three hundred thousand IUs of estrogen, depending on the type of hops. Most of it is the very potent estrogen estradiol. Estradiol, as it is taken into the male body, causes a direct lowering of testosterone levels in the ****** and an increase in **** levels, which then binds up even more free testosterone in the bloodstream. The estradiol in hops has also been found to directly interfere with the ability of the ****** Le*dig cells to produce testosterone. The presence of this highly estrogenic substance in beer is not an accident."

Blue Moon is now my go-to beer. Forget Sam Adams and Y***gling.

WHEAT ALES RULE!

So beer is the exact opposite of steroids?
I've gone from an activity player to an inactive player.
