The vaccines are rolling out in America!

Watch as the first 5 nurses in El Paso get their vaccinations!
https://youtu.be/rXdBo_rZ0bk

Hey.... wait a minute... aren't they supposed to put the vaccine in the needle before they put the needle in the arm? I don't think they're doing it quite right...

You know, I think I'm going to just gonna... you know... wait around and see what happen for a little bit before I make any rash decisions on whether I'll get a vaccine...
I'm better than you, but that doesn't mean you're not great! :)

There is a currently circulating MYTH suggesting masks don’t work to prevent spread of COVID-19.

Seriously people- STOP BUYING MASKS!

They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus,

You can't make this stuff up... they're so oblivious to the comedic irony...
While conflicting, I think context & timing is absolutely key as we've been over this before.

The context being, there was clearly a shortage of PPE and priority needed to be given to frontline workers, it was a bad situation to be in but at that point, what was the alternative? Allow panic buying to continue just ahead of nationwide lockdowns across the world?

Look at this guy in green... thinks he knows things. LOL

Who do you think was buying up all the PPE in bulk, all over the world? You think it was Americans? No, it was CCP operatives.

Do you have any idea how much PPE was exported to China, just before and just after the outbreak happened?

No? Then shut up about how this was all about protecting front line workers. It had nothing to do with it.

LOL. Context and timing.

The context is that they were directly lying to everyone, and they knew it, and they did it anyways. And now, they're acting like someone ELSE was spreading misinformation.... and that they're clearly the ones who you can trust. I mean, it's not like they intentionally lied to you... oh wait... they did...

The timing is that they did this at a time when PPE could have actually made a difference in the outbreak. Instead of locking things down, like China did, and forcing everyone to wear a mask to stop the outbreak, the CDC and the Surgeon General were telling people NOT to wear masks... at a very critical time that could have changed the outcome.

And you're here trying to be some liars apologist for some reason. They don't need you defending them. They certainly would not defend you.

Nex, I'm not about to get into a heated exchange with you.

Things weren't handled well, plenty of criticism to go around and I'm not trying to defend anybody, just laying out some extra context that it was widely known PPE was in short supply (sure, reasons involving China, poor preparation, incompetence, list goes on). If you want people to be held accountable for their actions, sure. I won't disagree.

We can question the handling of it all day long but it doesn't change that there was a shortage, however that came to be, and that priority given to frontline workers needed to happen (whether intentional or not) and by the time March rolled around, the general public in many countries got placed into lockdown rendering PPE for the general public (given the shortage) less of a priority due to restricted movement, than for frontline workers.

Ideally, there would have been enough PPE with no risk to frontline workers and health-care systems in that way and governments should have had a more robust & competent approach and clear messaging as a result instead of confusing people, but, here we are.

Then don't engage me.

Or did you assume that people had to simply accept what you say as "fact" otherwise you'll issue infractions for "misinformation"?

Like, who engages someone and in the very first sentence they state that they don't want to engage that person?

If you don't plan on having me respond to you with facts and evidence, then don't engage me.

You're not even "fighting the good fight". You're just trying to dismiss responsibility from those who were knowingly lying to the people whom they are supposed to be protecting.

And now that the CDC is being hypocritical, accusing others of doing exactly what they did, you're here for some reason to try and defend them.

Nothing you can say or try to explain away, changes the fact that the CDC is hypocritically accusing others for doing the exact same thing that they did. Except, they're the CDC, and hundreds of millions of Americans look towards them for guidance.

And guess what? You know who the CDC is accusing of spreading this "MYTH"? You would know if you took 30 seconds to check the actual tweet...

Well... let me tell you... the CDC is accusing...
*drum roll*
... the CDC for spreading misinformation. .

You can't make this stuff up... even if you tried...

The CDC was spreading misinformation back at the start of the year.

Now, they're accusing THEMSELVES of spreading misinformation, but still trying to make it appear as though someone else is responsible for the misinformation being spread in the first place.

But yeah... you just keep thinking that somehow.. you need to defend them.

O_o

You can engage with someone without it turning into a heated exchange and breaking down into an argument, which is the direction it seemed to take and a direction I didn't want to be a part of.

If you want to have a calm and collected discussion , cool. If you want to respond with remarks telling people to shut-up and so forth, not so cool and just so unnecessary.

I think I made my opinion pretty clear in my last post, plenty of criticism to go around and plenty of accountability to be had and I never said you weren't wrong, I just said there was further context with regards to PPE, its advice, frontline workers and so on - and lets be honest - there'll be things that happened that we'll never be privy too just being regular old folk.

great, a 28 day lockdown after boxing day, reason for not being sooner before people travel for xmas is translated to; "
We want everyone to travel and shop in order to spend their money before they die as we know cases will spike over this(common sense).
"
I haven't been watching much of the news as of late, it gets a little repetitive :(

I keep note of the important changes and stuff but other than that, I stay away lol. It was to be expected that we in at least in Toronto were going to have our lockdown extended. To be honest it has been a pretty poor attempt at a lockdown - I'd argue if they're going to do it, do it properly.
