The rising number of cases in the UK are mainly in younger people who are unvaccinated or have only had 1 of the 2 jabs. This situation will improve with time. We just need to carry on being careful until the majority have had both of the vaccinations. I've been looking for the news article where I saw this information but I can't find it so it must have been in that old fashioned news medium...the printed newspaper.

UK is 60% vaccinated, we have rising cases :(
I think it's cases mainly in England right?

Last I checked when I spoke to my family in Wales is that cases there are still very low but they've also been a lot more cautious in their re-opening compared to England.

So vaccinations definitely seem to be making a difference, but that effort is still obviously ongoing and nobody is out of the woods quite yet :( While 60% is good, it's still not great.

Even here, 60% vaccinated with certain case/ICU numbers means we can open up slightly but we won't reach anywhere close to normal until we get up past 70/80% no doubt.

The authorities, possibly WHO said a couple of years, possibly longer before Covid is contained or manageable (can't remember which). These things do take time and countries are doing really well with the Covid vaccine rollout.

Remember with the stronger Covid variants and possible new strains still to come, people who are vaccinated may still catch Covid, I believe it's very slim.

Just read this (extract):

WWW.therealnews.nz:

Covid Vaccine:

- Does not provide immunity, but may reduce symptoms.
- Does not eliminate the virus.
- Does not prevent death.
- Does not guarantee you won't get it.
- Does not stop you from passing it on to others.
- Does not eliminate the need for travel bans.
- Does not eliminate the need for business closure.
- Does not eliminate the need for lockdowns.
- Does not eliminate the need for masking.

- If I get vaccinated will I be resistant to Covid?
Maybe. We don't know exactly, but probably not.

- If I get vaccinated, at least I won't be contagious to others - right?
No, the vaccine doesn't stop transmission.

- If I get vaccinated can I stop wearing a mask?
No.

- I'd I get vaccinated, how long will the vaccine last?
No one knows. All the vaccines are still in experimental stage.

- if I get vaccinated can I stop social distancing?
No

- So what's the benefit of getting vaccinated?
Hoping the virus won't kill you.

- Are you sure the vaccine won't injure or kill me?
No.

- If statistically the virus won't kill me (99.7% survival rate), why should I get vaccinated?
To protect others.

So if I get vaccinated, I can protect 100% of people I come into contact with?
No.

Just read this advertisement in a magazine called The Real News, www.therealnews.nz

The "Vaccine" wasn't made for Covid, Covid was made for the "Vaccine". Once you realize that, everything else will make perfect sense.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
if invited for a jab, just ask them to call back when the trials are over -
Pfizer jab won't be completed till January 27th 2023
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04368728
The Moderns trials come to a close on December 2023
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT03897881
The AstraZeneca trials will reach completion in February 2023
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04516746
There is no reliable evidence that this novel Pfizer vaccine is 'safe or 'effective,' at least not in the sense commonly understood by the public.
How they have the nerve to call that website "The Real News" baffles me, I've never seen such a load of nonsense.
Dong, I'd be very careful where you're getting that information from. Firstly, you're quoting medical information from a person who has qualifications in the legal field, not the medical field.
You're not going to visit a lawyer if you get sick, so why are you seemingly taking medical advice from one?
Secondly, based on studies (in the medical field) so far show positive signs that the vaccines do help reducing the risk of severe symptoms and more recently there are indications that they also seem to be helping with transmission (since it lessens the symptoms you develop).
I tried to find a date when the article was written or the magazine, couldn't find it. It was dropped in my letterbox yesterday afternoon.
That's good news Joel; the article said that, the article is just letting you know vaccines are still in trial stages; a lot of people out there including me thought I won't be able to pick up the virus because I've had my Covid vaccines; I thought I'd be Covid safe for approximately a year, which is not accurate.
@Rooh, I feel what I quoted out of the article sounds pretty accurate. I feel people are under a false belief.
