My mum asked me should she get the jab and I said yes definitely, you've never been allergic to anything, you will be fine, then she said it's just come out, it's new not been around long (she thinks a bit like me
) I said people over seas have been getting it for a while now and it seems to be all safe, I would recommend you getting it. She's in her 70s. I never told her my personal feelings on the vaccine being new and my concerns, she's in her 70s and I feel it's best for her to have the vaccine.
I'm going to talk to my primary care physician for a recommendation as to what I should do.
I have 2 things going against me - I had a terrible reaction to the whopping cough vaccine and I am allergic to shellfish. Don't want the cure to kill me sort of mentality for me.
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

Iirc you shouldn't have the Pfizer vaccine if you are allergic to shellfish. Your doctor should know what alternatives there are for you. If you are advised against having any of the vaccines that's why the rest of us need to be vaccinated to protect you and others who
cannot
have the jab for medical reasons. If we can't catch Covid then we can't pass it on to you.

May do the Johnson & Johnson one. Less effective, but I heard there are also less side effects. Plus I am young, healthy and relatively fit now, so if I do catch it, then the chances of me getting through it are fairly high.
And, that is how it works for whooping cough for me. I can't get it, but since everyone else of vaccinated, I don't catch it.

Doesn`t seem possible really that we have been living like this for a year.
Had our minute`s silence at work, all the colleagues and customers standing silent, really made you reflect on just how bad this has been and still is being.
