My poor pansies got trodden on when they were covered with snow ...not by me but by my husband and someone who came to put something through our letterbox. I can't blame the random person but my husband should have known they were there. :@

Not done anything outside for a while, too cold and I completed all the 'winterising' in good time.

We've had some really hard frosts overnight for the last week or so, plus some snow, so it's a case of waiting it out until things warm up.

Lol Ten when you said gardening I was expecting like watermelon fields, corn and such, not house plants. As for this idea I know it's not a house plant but Southern Magnolias are BEAUTIFUL. There's also another type of plant that we call honeysuckle, it is the sweetest smell and it fills the air in the spring time, they're also nice to look at and part of the flower is edible tasting like the finest honey.

Eh it's a regional thing, gardening is more of plants while farms deal with animals. I've done both for quite a few years. Trained horses, milked cows, worked the fields planting and harvesting.

Technically farm can mean either one but I like to make a distinction, and a lot of people around where I live also keep the words farm and garden separate.

currently fighting a nasty spider mite infestation. They must have come in on another of my dwarf meyer lemon trees. Had the three of them in quarantine before moving them in with my other plants. Now they are every where in one of my plant rooms. So have been waging total warfare using neem oil.

There will be no quarter given and no mercy shown. It shall be total annihilation for them.

OK that's interesting. I'm assuming you are not a Brit - here the term farming encompasses crops and/or livestock.

Gardening usually refers to an individual planting decorative species (sometimes small scale vegetables for the table) on their property. Although, of course, there are some very very large gardens attached to, say, stately homes which the public can pay to visit and admire.

Somewhere in the middle of them, for size and purpose, is what we refer to as 'smallholdings' or 'market gardens' .

Day eight of the war. Neem oil working some what. Going to up the war factor tomorrow. The little pests from hell are going to get a shot of Sanmite. Been trying to avoid using the chemical method, but they have left me no choice. Don't ever think the reason I am peaceful is because I do not know how to be violent.
