Your basis for things is that profiles are "marketing gimmicks" and I'm just trying to understand, from your perspective, where the marketing gimmick comes into play. It's not profile cost, as you say it's free to create/add new profiles. That would be pretty shady marketing. Where does the cost to you come into play? Do you have to re-purchase games for new profiles?

Yep, I should have just continued to have fun.

The achievements are marketing gimmicks and I used that to differentiate between a profile and a game. The achievements/gimmick was intended to describe the difference between what I am discussing in this threas and what you discussed, because the achievements (which again are gimmicky by nature) are held with the profile and not the game.

I know in xbox, you can absolutely delete your profile and your games will stay. I can't remember about the Playstation and the Nintendo uses the profile more as its own class of saved games.

If you are seriously going to get stuck on this argument, I am going to continue to be ridiculous. And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known
