I watched a number of movies last night and early this morning, most of them with a horror component to them.

I watched that movie You're Next (2011) recommended by Rooh, thanks. I like home invasion movies, and although I'm not really into slasher type movies I liked this movie a lot.
I like how Erin fought back

The Deep House (2021) A horror that I enjoyed.

Frank (2021) Was ok, and weird.

Aquarium of the Dead (2021) I knew this was going to be rubbish but still watched it. I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm about to watch Chucky season 1 episodes 1 and 2. Its a tv show about that killer doll. I'll let you know what I think of it later.

Yeah, that's the thing that really made it for me. I'm not really a huge fan of slashers but don't mind them when they do something a bit different and actually have a good idea behind them.

By far the best horror film for putting a different spin on a genre is
Cabin In The Woods
(2011).
If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and avoid reading anything about it in advance.
It's a fantastic twist to an all-too-familiar kind of story.

The Halloween binge continues... and last night I watched
Scream
(1996)

I absolutely loved this at the time, it was fresh and original, but revisiting it was disappointing.
I think that once you know the plot it ruins the enjoyment, you really need to know nothing about it to get the most out of this film.

I actually watched that movie about 6 months ago and liked it. After watching it I realized the killing of young people in that order in slasher movies is a real thing.

I watched the first 3 episodes of the Chucky tv series and really like it, I'm hooked and cant wait for the next episode to come out next Wednesday.

The doll Chucky has some cool humor.

I suspect that's Jennifer Aniston's least favourite film :P
Brad divorced her shortly after making it to marry his co-star, Angelina.

I watched a few episodes of
My Name
(Netflix 2021) last night, a really good new Korean series about a woman who joins a ring of criminals to try to find who killed her father.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt12940504/

Also watched another old favourite for Halloween,
Pumpkinhead

Lastnight I just needed somethign fun that I know would be very entertaining and I could have a laugh at.

So watched
The Whole 9 Yards.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190138/

Cast is huge and some great actors. Bruce Willis, Matthew Perry, Rosanna Arquette, Michael Clarke Duncan, Natasha Henstridge and Amanda Peet.

Great fun film and The Whole 10 Yards over the weekend will make for a perfect weekends viewing.

More Halloween horror last night,
The Howling
(1981)

A werewolf film that flopped a bit on its first release, due to being released at more or less the same time as the superior American Werewolf In London.

Not a bad film in its own right though and an interesting story.
Some of the fx look incredibly dated nowadays though.
