2. I've been wanting to go to Zimbabwe since 2019, haven't gone because it costs so much and I don't have the money or a means of making the money.

3. Aside from poor foreign nations there are loads of folks here in the US that are in situations similar to those in third world nations. Have you seen what a city looks like after a hurricane levels it? I have. Volunteered after hurricane Laura demolished Lake Charles. Go google the images of the aftermath if you want to see just how bad it was.

The world is full of very deprived places and people, some very much worse than others. Not always apparent to privileged people and communities where life assistance is readily available.

Natural disasters and their temporary aftermath are another category altogether and can not compare with cradle to grave day on day grinding poverty to which I am referring and for which this crass unthinking statement can never apply.... 'I mean life is easier if everything is free' .

BTW - if you want to go help people in poverty and need of assistance you don't need money or the means to make money, you need training and the true will to go. There are a number of Voluntary Services Abroad programs you can apply to - they will give you the training and the means to get to the places needing voluntary aid.

@Bass It seems you missed something that I said when I stated "Life is easier if everything is free", that was applying strictly to the folks who choose to be homeless.

Also I agree about the state of natural disasters being different than day to day events where local militias are running from town to down killing everyone to gain control by terror but humanitarian aid is humanitarian aid. No form is better than the other because in the end people are being helped which is the goal - aiding people.

As for the latter.... Well I can't say for certain whether that's true or false because I really don't know. I have looked, but everything I saw stated that self-funding as well as training through a university or community college was necessary.

The majority of these issues you have stated are blown extremely out of proportion by the mainstream media and are in no way as bad as they make it seem. The news is nothing but lies as far as im concerned, live your life, do your thing, worry about stuff when it happens to you and if it happens to you. Practice common sense and educate yourself.

@Bruce Wayne - I'm not upset about the news seeing that I don't actually watch the news. We don't have tv, and I intentionally block all news sources.

Yesterday there was a drive by at a park and 3 kids were shot with a 6 year old dying.
Friday night there was a house fire and Saturday there was another house fire.
Then yesterday word came back to me that a group of people had intended what would be called premeditated aggravated assault against me and a friend if we went back to a house where my friend tried to sell his subwoofers. Crazy thing is, me and the friend didn't do anything wrong, we were courteous and polite to those people who had planned that.

There's a lot of hurt in this world. People are needlessly cruel and violent doing evil just because. I suppose I'm just saying that my heart is heavy because I feel the pain that everyone is enduring.
