This includes all of the forums, not just this one. The counter itself is fairly skewed in measuring the activity of the forums though. From my understanding, it measures posts within the last 5-10 minutes or so - if this is the case, it wouldn't account for active forum 'lurkers'.

Sapphire is fairly good. The tiers are as follows, based on post count:

Bronze - 1
Iron - 50
Silver - 200
Steel - 500
Gold - 750
Mithril - 1,000
Adamant - 2,500
Rune - 5,000
Opal - 10,000
Sapphire - 25,000
Emerald - 50,000
Ruby - 100,000
Diamond - 250,000
Dragonstone - 500,000
Onyx - 1,000,000
Hydrix - 2,500,000

It's amazing how a badge/rank/whatever that increases the more you post on any forum over the internet... actually helps building the what if...? "posting fuel" to unknown proportions O_o

Well, 2.5 million (and even others before it like 1 million, etc.) are so unrealistic that I don't think it really encourages spamming or anything like that, though. :P

They implemented the badges as a genuine attempt to increase activity. Because as soon as the masses learnt about post count badges they were going to flock the forums..

Of course they were correct as they always are!
