apparently there was a stream where it was discussed sometime in January and Poerkie said they would be removing it however on a stream at some time in February this had changed to they were looking into it (much the same way they're looking into giving CM mods Jmod account status I expect).

I know this was meant flippantly, but we did get an update recently that they're making headway with this. Not saying it's coming soon, but they are actually putting work into figuring that out - it's just been a lot more of a headache than they predicted. Community Manager for Jagex

I'd imagine whoever did the original code didn't document it well and no one really cared to look into it so now someone has to figure out where it went wrong. And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

The avatar module is stand alone, so an avatar image can be displayed anywhere on the site. The forums, RuneMetrics, the header (menu), Message Centre, and you can even go into the module to pull a copy if your avatar to save and use on other websites and services. It's not just a "forum thing".

What does runemetrics have to do with photobooth??

There is still a huge amount of players that visit the forums, I wish I can remember the numbers, a while back Jagex gave us the numbers and it wasn't all gloom and doom. So yes having the Devs spend time on the photobooth is essential in my eyes.
If fat means flavour then I'm ******* delicious!
