I was contemplating redecorating my main hallway (yet again, thanks dogs) and so perused one or two paint colour sites.
There's some grim colours out there these days. One called "Woodwind" which is actually the colour of an old sheet that I'd rip up and make into cleaning rags. Another one called "Aged Stucco" - simply a filthy grey.
"Twist & Shout" - bilious vomit. "Thatched Cottage" - dark brown (does anyone even paint their walls brown anymore? So 60s).
My hallway is currently a pale Apricot. Can't decide whether to change to dirty grey or filthy grey
I had a discussion lately about wallpaper / tapestry. I find it quite amusing that it all started with the royals, then the industry allowed us to make cheat wallpaper. And the bugs that naturally decompose paper / wood are happy. Then components of glue that is used to atatch it to the wall that is used with the artificial vanilla industry. Hmm hmm. I shall not spoil you guys with sources, horrible horrible nightmares might arise....

Yeah. No. I don't have wallpaper any more. Used to years ago but everything is painted smooth plaster now. Got fed up faffing around with all that mucky stripping of old paper every time.
Never thought about bugs and decomposing but ewwww, glad I got rid of it in that case.
